... how shallow. [puts his empty glass down] If I was still in control of my full powers, I would make you feel what those animals feel before they die. Then what the hunted feel, then what a vampire feels. A vampire's victim has a chance to heal this damage quickly. Fifty, sixty years... about as long as any minor trauma. A soldier in the middle of a war takes centuries. A farm animal takes just as long. A hunted animal takes a little less, and are perhaps more delicious than a penned one. A vampire, if ever, takes thousands of years due to their own struggles, not to mention the wounds idiots such as yourself inflict.

[looks up at him] Do not pretend you can pass judgment on any being. You can live your life as you choose, wounding the souls of who you wish to continue your own pathetic life. But do not judge another for doing the same when they are struggling to keep themselves from becoming the monster you think they are. You, perhaps, are more a monster than they are. They accept what they do as monstrous. You don't.
