[there's a figure that should be familiar to some standing in the middle of town, face to the sky. It's Guy, but he looks rather different...his hair is down, for one thing, and he's wearing a loose white shirt that hasn't been ironed lately, and a pair of pants. That's it. No shoes. Even his usual collar is missing. He's got a somewhat bemused smile on his face, but his eyes are vacant, as if he's not quite all there.]

It looks the same...

[he laughs quietly to himself, and shakes his head. But he doesn't move, just stands there, hands in his pockets, staring at the sky. He doesn't even seem to notice the chill in the air.]



[ooc: I missed you guys. ;; smart_style and oneand0 -mun here with another one. He's also ten years older than canon and more than a little crazy. He comes from a post-ending RP where Auldrant went the bad-end route and died like the Score said. Soooo if you're not Asch or Jade, he probably thinks you're a hallucination. Because all his friends are dead. Have fun. :D]

[he doesn't move for a moment, even after hearing her voice. In fact, he seems like a statue; there's no reaction, not even a blink. On the outside, at least.]

[Natalia. It's been some time since his mind decided to play this trick on him, and it has to be her, of all people. Well...it would be her.]

[slowly, his posture relaxes, and he turns to face her. But his smile is crooked, and his gaze seems to slide off her face like it's glass. Like he can't truly see her.]

[he blinks at her, or at the scarf, rather. It feels real. But he doesn't react to her proximity like he used to. There's no trembling, no moving away...he thinks she isn't real, after all. So what is there to be afraid of?]

I'm fine. I've been like this for a while. It'll pass.

But it's good to see you, anyway. Even if it won't last.

What do you mean it won't last? I'm aware we're in a different world, but once we return home...we have been writing letters after all. Both of us must wait patiently with Tear for Luke to come home.

[his voice is oddly calm, almost nonchalant, but hollow at the same time.]

[He's trying to keep his usual brand of cheeriness, but at the same time, he can sense there's something horribly wrong. Guy seemed to have lost his usual spark.]

Of course they told me. A different world. They've got ships that can travel through the stars...amazing, isn't it? Just like the engineers in Sheridan were trying to do, with the rocket tower.

[he lifts his head a little, some of the old life coming back into his eyes at that...but it fades quickly.]

So they "saved" us. Whoever was willing to leave instead of dying with the planet like the Score predicted. Yeah, they told me.

[It was that glint that put him on guard. It appeared that this Guy's Jade had been less than kind to him... He felt an odd twinge of guilt, but brushed it off. It wasn't him, but another version of himself. It appeared he would have to be the one to explain. What a bother.]

Unfortunately, I'm not the one who did such a thing. I'm most likely not the Jade you are familiar with. Though I suppose none of this is making much sense. [Sigh. He's also keeping an eye on you, Guy. Wouldn't want a sword or a knife suddenly thrust through his gut.]

[thankfully, Guy is unarmed...though it might be hard to tell from his loose sleeves. He doesn't seem underfed, at least, but the observant might notice that his muscle tone isn't what it used to be.]

Things stopped making sense a long time ago. I lost a lot of days. Weeks. You know who I thought he was?

Luke. I thought he was Luke. Because I couldn't stand remembering I tried to kill him. I tried to strangle him and he kept coming back--....

[Oh... Things were starting to make sense. He'd, of course, seen this plenty of times. Prisoners driven mad from being locked away for so long. And to see this happen to Guy... His Guy was making a name for himself as Count Gardios and living his life happily. It almost hurt physically to see him like this. As much as he would never admit it, Guy was someone he would trust even if he couldn't throw him an inch.]
