[ Jade is seated away from most of the dressing room's guests. his eyes are glued to the pages of the book. he seems entirely consumed, detached from what is going on around him, and easily interrupted... ]

*pops up behind him, peering over his shoulder at the book he's reading.*

Nothing of importance.

[ the book is closed with a "clop". ]

How are your artes?

[ his eyes never leave the pages. seems he has nothing to hide... ]

Curiosity killed the cat, you know.

[He looks at the book, maybe he can read the title?] They're okay... not so good. I get tired to quickly from practice...

*jumps slightly at the sound of his voice, moving to stand beside him.*

Those who aren't curious don't learn, either.

[ the book seems to be a regular one, handwritten notes on the pages. it's messy handwriting too, like a child's. ]

Are you sick?

Your death would teach many not to sneak up behind me.

[He looks curious about it but won't ask anymore about it.]

A little... it hasn't gone away completely.

My death would result in a frenzied Asch gutting for your head.

[ stands, book held firmly in his hand. ]

[ lets the book fall to his lap, no longer held in his hand. the writing inside is scribbling, like a child's handwriting. ]

...I know not to, but I am not sure how to recover completely... even so I think I've progressed enough with Icicle Rain...

*stares at the book, trying to read the writing.* Same as always. Trying to stay out of trouble and look after all the kids around here. How about you? What are you reading?
