[follows, mostly worried because of the roots and slightly uneven ground]

[Ion takes his time walking over the roots and he seems strong enough to travel on the uneven ground.

Soon enough they're out of the forest and near town.]

[quiet for a moment, then pulls his hand back to talk. "I miss the Ions I've been closest too. Replica or original."]

[He relaxes.]

[And he turns away to walk on.]

My replicas and I are different people.

[reaches out so he can write on his shoulder. "My original and I are different people. We're still people. You're not the same as your replicas, but I still like you."]

[He freezes at that. Maybe he looks a little shocked too. Not many people say they like him for himself.

He turned around with a smile. It's not exactly close to genuine or happy. Rather, too polite. Too distant.]

[looks at him with the too sharp, too innocent eyes of a child. "You're interesting. You're dangerous. I like you as much as I like your replicas, who aren't as dangerous as you."]

[There's a sigh. It's not enough.]

[gives him a hug, writing on his back. "You need friends more than your replica does."]

[Leans into the hug and goes kinda limp. Ion feels friends are kinda pointless.]
