[ From one of the many hallways comes the sound of a hollow object smacking into something. Repeatedly. Turns out Asch is strolling along, bouncing a ping pong ball off his forehead, of all things, looking more than a little agitated with something or someone. ]

... I was afraid of getting close to people, so I never stayed much longer than two weeks. I... was there for longer, but only because I got really sick.

[ flinches slightly, but smiles faintly before swinging his legs up to curl up on his side ]

[ He had been about to leave but stops midway when Luke flinches, taking the time to brush a hand through his hair. ] ...

[ glances up questioningly ]

...are you afraid of me?

[ his face falters, and he sits up again ]

[ Gently tries to get him to lie back down. ] I've seen how you react when my temper flares. It's obvious you want to bolt then. And just now, you shied away.
