[ And Luke stumbles right into one the worst people imaginable -- a familiar face! One that is none too pleased to see what kind of state one of his replicas is in.

Asch is knocked sideways a step and comes just shy of drawing his sword when he notes who hit him. ]

What in Yulia's name happened to you, dreck!

[Luke jumps back, more than a little jittery after everything that happened -- then again, you would be to if you were awake though the whole thing. He paused a moment, taking in the different clothes and sword.]

Y-you're... that Asch... from the hotel...

[Still, he took another step back; why did he always bump into the worst people?]

[ If Asch is surprised that it's the same replica, it doesn't show on his face. Perhaps he's too angry to be surprised; how could anyone allow themselves to need that many stitches?! And here he'd begun to think this one was smarter than most. ]

And you're the replica. Now answer my question!

[ Asch matches his retreat, glaring daggers at the poor boy. ]

[Luke kept backing away until his weak, stitched up legs deposited him on the ground. He let out a pained cry, huddling up on himself. Clearly, something terrible had happened; this Luke was far from a weakling, as Asch had found out.]

A-a man captured me in the city... h-he was too strong, I couldn't get away...

[ Heedless of the other's pain, Asch grabs him by the collar and tries to haul him to his feet. Injured or not, he wasn't about to haul a replica around over like a sack of potatoes. ]

Are you truly that inferior? You're skilled with a sword and have use of hyperresonance! How could you lose?!

[Luke let out a pained cry as he was hauled back to his feet, a faint pink blossoming on his coat as one of the stitches in his shoulder pulled slightly.]

I-I couldn't hit him with my sword. He moved faster than Sync, and my hyperresonance... it didn't do a thing to him, even at full blast!

[ His grip slackened upon hearing that and he stood there for a moment, dumbfounded. ...even with Luke's control and power being less, how could a hyperresonance do nothing? It destroyed matter. There was no way whoever had damaged his replica could've gotten away unscathed. ]

Bullshit! That's impossible!

[Luke shook his head.]

I wish it was... I left a ten foot wide crater in the sidewalk, but not a scratch on him... I-I don't even think he's human.

Tch...! In that case, how did you manage to get out with only these injuries against a foe that strong?

[Luke swallowed loudly, closing his eyes and shuddering.]

...I didn't.

... [ Just what was he getting at? ]

Explain.

[Luke shook slightly.]

R-remember what I said about the labs, if you let the chip go? Well... they bring you back... i-if you die, too...

[He finally lets his arms drop, giving Asch a good look at how stitched up he is.]

Usually they give you an effect as punishment. [bitter] I guess they thought this was punishment enough.

..... [ Even Asch couldn't help wincing some. He'd had his fair share of abuse in the Order, yet from the looks of it the replica had managed to discover hell itself. ]

This person killed you?

[ He gets all up in Luke's personal space to inspect the injuries. ]

[Luke yelped at the personal space invasion, but didn't move, shaking as he let Asch poke and prod at him. He's got stitches all over; anything that could be disjointed and taken apart was, and rather shamelessly at that.]

Y-yeah... he did...

[ Asch snarls at the all the damage he'd received and yanks on his coat to get him moving. No doubt Luke wouldn't be able to treat his injuries properly. ]

Idiot...!

[Luke let out a soft whimper at the tugging, though he wasn't about to complain. At least he wasn't beating the crap out of him. On that note, he wasn't going to mention that he ended up in Szayel's grasp because he broke his back trying to lift Cloud's sword. He really would have gotten an ear full if he admitted to that.]

W-where are you taking me...?

[ Mentioning that little tidbit would have landed Luke in the doghouse forever and then some for pulling such a stupid stunt. Asch made his way through the various buildings, half dragging Luke along when he couldn't walk on his own. ]

That doesn't matter.

[Luke fell quiet, wobbling along behind Asch. At least he wasn't threatening to beat the crap out of him... he really had enough pain right now.]

[ Asch figured as much, which was why he'd save the thrashing for when it'd really count. They reach the main building, and after what probably seemed like an eternity of twists and turns down hallways and corridors, Asch stops at a door to dig for the key. ]

[Luke looked up when they stopped, blinking in surprise.]

...is this where you live?

[ Asch glanced at the replica out of the corner of his eye, growling at having misplaced his damn key again. ]

What did you expect?

[Luke didn't bother to answer, falling quiet again.]

Idiot.

[ Seems that's his designated name for this Luke. Finding his key, Asch unlocked the door and had no qualms about shoving the replica in subtly being careful not to make him trip on the lightweight chain locked to the foot of the bed. ]

[Good thing, because Luke's traumatized enough to have a full blown freak out if he saw that. Luke stumbled inside, shooting Asch an annoyed glared, before shifting uneasily, feeling like a mouse caught in the lion's den.]

[ Well, Luke might have missed seeing that one, but it's not the only indication of what this Asch was really like; there's a secondary chain hooked to the wall on the opposite side of the bed, along with an assortment of collars strewn about the dresser. ]

Sit yourself down if you can manage that much.

[ Asch nods to the regal-looking armchair near the door before disappearing into the adjacent room. ]
