002 - Happy Halloween~
[Anyone who knows Dist will know he's a workaholic. What with having little to no true friends, as well as being a social outcast, he's dedicated himself to his research. During his stay in this new world, he's found a suitable place to live as well as do his experiments. And today is no different. He's been working well into the night, a bright opal moon glowing its white-gold light through a large, arched window. It gives his laboratory an eerie feel - shadows looking like the stuff of nightmares.
The researcher removes a vial from a tray, the murky red liquid sloshing thickly. Reaching for a syringe, he fills it with the solution and approaches his examination table, pushing up his rounded glasses. The moonlight shines off them, giving his already manic appearance a bit extra. Mad scientist? No, no, no... We much prefer evil genius.
Upon the examination table is a monster, probably unconscious from some sort of drug. Dist examines the small canine-like beast, checking its vital signs.]
Mm... Everything seems stable. Now, to add the drug. This should increase its overall physical abilities as well as slow the metabolism dramatically. [He smirks, eyes lighting up wickedly.] If this proves successful...
[But since when does anything ever go according to plan? Fate is an enemy of the God-General. As he reaches to inject the sleeping hound, the drug keeping it asleep wears off. Frantic, the beast howl and kicks its legs, knocking Dist's hand and the syringe away. Cursing, he reaches to grab the monster, but feels a hot, burning pain in his leg. Wincing, he looks down, and sees the needle pumping his unholy concoction right into his thigh. He removes it instantly, knocking it away as a burning, searing fire blazes its way through his body. He roars with pain and desperately looks for an antidote, knocking over vials, beakers, and papers. The sound of shattering glass and splattering fluids fills the night's grim air as the tiny monster whines, yelps and curls into a corner.]
Ggh... hrrg...!! Wh-What's... happening?! This--Aahhh!! I-It's not... I need--!!
[He collapses into a dark corner of his laboratory, and silence reigns. The only sound that can be heard is the whimpering of the little monster, scratching frantically at the wall behind it. It knew something was there with it. Coming closer... Its yelps and squeals become howls and screams as a heavy breathing flows into the mix.
The howls stop.

Hahahaa....
[Ooc: HAPPY HALLOWEEN, PEOPLES! 83 Have a vampire!Dist. He's going to be prowling around the city, looking for some noms. Anyone wanna have some fun with this guy, dohoho~?
Things to Note:
- Dist DOES know something is wrong with him, that he's dangerous to people, and will give fair warning to some people before attacking them, but his control will be in little bursts here and there.
- Dist's abilities are HIGHLY increased. This means speed, strength, endurance, defense, and magic will all be a LOT stronger than normal.
- Dist needs blood, obviously. And nothing is safe. If you want him to bite you please include the tag BAIT as the comment title. If you merely want him to target your character but not bite them, please include the TARGET title.
- THREADJACKING IS ALLOWED, AND EVEN ENCOURAGED! Have people come to the rescue!
- Dist cannot die. But he CAN BE HURT. Fire and Light artes do a very heavy toll on him. Magic in general is pretty effective, but he's completely immune to Dark, and will laugh at you if you use it on him. :|b
- He's going to turn back on Sunday night. He'll have gained some kind of control to return to his lab and inject the antidote into himself on that day.
If this isn't okay with the mods, I'll take it down. Have fun, guys! &hearts]

[She turns her attention back to Dist, and approaches him, shaking her head as he shrinks back.]
Look, if this is about not wanting to let anyone see you in Yulia forbid a messy labcoat...
[She reaches out a hand to him.]
no subject
You...ignorant--!!
[And his own arm shoots out and grabs her wrist tightly. His grip is like a vice, firm and unrelenting.]
I told you to run. Now you've gone and lost your chance~
TARGET/BAIT/WHATEVER YOU WANT.
... ANISE!
[--and he's found it. He's going for a Fonic Arte immediately--somehow realizing that light and fire would drive the beast away--and trying to hurry it along. The fonic circle appears beneath him as he holds his hand out towards Dist. Anise already has a "friend" marking when he casts.]
O sword of conviction, loose the might of your brilliant colors!
no subject
[- His little snide comment brings her out of her daze, and she struggles fiercely against him, trying to pull back, but it's too late - Dist has already bared his fangs and is closing in on her neck...]
[But the Colonel-! His voice surprises her - and she just barely manages to turn wide eyes to face the his sudden arrival. His arte is powerful - but does he cast it on time?]
no subject
Saphir was gone now - this was the vampire. And he did not appreciate your intervention or that immensely powerful Light Based arte.]
Jade, you worthless filth!!
[So he casts an arte of his own. You might know it, Anise, but it'll be a lot stronger than when you were little. Dist knew a slim few artes even as a mortal, but his skill now as a vampire boosted them. He's on the same page as you now, Necromancer. And he still has his hostage.]
O hellion whose roar chills the very soul, resound!
BLOODY HOWLING!
[And - whoa - that looks strong. The floor beneathe the older man opens to show a swirling black hole, hell perhaps? Screams and howls burst forth as well as red, searing tendrils. Dist's gotten stronger, Jade, are you sure you're up to fighting him? You're not as young as you used to be...
After he casts the arte, he doesn't look back to see if it hits or not. Out, out... He needed to get out of the house. Grabbing Anise with him, he jumps from the shattered window and out into the night air.]
no subject
[No, there was no time! He managed to react quickly, but the arte still got him in the back. Hell's flames had no mercy...]
[But it didn't matter. His newly-found instincts told him that Anise was in great danger with Dist, and that she could easily die if he had his way. This was no longer Saphir, he somehow knew, this was a monster who fed on the blood of innocents.]
[While not as fast as a vampire, he's still picking up the speed to chase after him. Anise...! His heart's pumping and the adrenaline is spurring him on. He hasn't felt like this in a long, long time... though it was rather unwelcome at the moment.]
[It doesn't take long for him to catch up and the spear to come into play. It forms in his hand quickly, and he waits for Anise to be out of the way before trying to slash at the vampire.]
Let her go, Dist!
no subject
L-let me go, you bastard!
[Because this - this wasn't Dist, anymore. She realizes this, now, and any misgivings about retaliating against him disappeared. The Colonel's sudden appearance certainly helped spur her on; even if the vampire was running away, she knew he would catch up. But - this was no time to play the damsel in distress - she had to do her part! She couldn't let the Colonel do all the work, after all. He must be so disappointed in her for letting her guard down-!]
[She struggles hard against her captor, pushing herself away and trying to free herself from his hold on her. And every flail is punctuated by quick, firm and very painful strikes of her fists. If, you know, he weren't a superhuman vampire, anyway.]
Let - [punch!] me - [punch!] go-! [punch!!]
no subject
That spear won't do much against him, Jade, but he does dodge it carefully, grinning and laughing high and cold.]
Off a building perhaps! Aahhahaha!!! And only when I'm done with her, Jade~
[Oh, Jade, don't you know Dist plays dirty? Any time you try to slash at him with your spear, he's just going to use Anise as a shield. Why? Because it's fun~ The spear won't hurt him, but you deserve to sweat a little. And he'll lap up any of the blood if you manage to cut her. Thanks for doing the work for him, Necromancer.]
woo, need to not start threads when i'm tired. i realized how much info i left out LOL
[It was more of a distraction than anything. He ignores the words, using the time to grab Dist's arm when he could finally reach it when he held Anise out, and attempts to slash him on the wrist. Hard. There were bones there. It would HURT.]
[If pure strength couldn't save her, then wit would. He didn't blame Anise at all--Dist was
more ofa monsterthan usualat the moment. Jade had only wondered where she had wandered off to before he was changed into this costume... and gained knowledge he didn't know he possessed. Instincts, the inner-workings of a new species, tools... It was strange, to say the least, but useful.]/is always tagging at odd hours
[But his slashes were still terrifyingly close, and Anise wanted nothing more than to unleash some sort of attack on Dist-impostor herself - to go so low as to use her as a human shield-! It was cowardly and pathetic!]
[In fact, she reckoned she could. Somehow, it felt like there was a burst of fonons in her - like any arte she could cast right now would be exponentially more powerful than what was normal...!]
[But she needed an opening. She had to help the Colonel, had to, but with everything happening so quickly, it was difficult-!]
I shouldn't tag between and DURING class, so we're in the same boat. ;;
Dist pivots on one heel, presses his weight into that leg, and - also using Anise as a brace - he jams his other heel into the Necromancer's stomach with a swift high kick. His eyes are absolutely on fire. And his voice drips with acid.]
You want her so much? Fine. CATCH!
[The vampire grabs Anise by the arm with his uninjured one, he flings her after Jade, who he just knocked away. As they crumple into a heap together, he stands his ground a fair bit away. A flash of white-gold light shimmers beside him and a wicked looking scythe materializes in his good hand. Looks like you're not the only one to utilize the contamination effect, Colonel. Dist seems to have taken to the books, his only source of comfort, when you abandoned him. And learned some new tricks.
Illuminated in the light of a full moon, eyes like hell's merciless flames, and wind passing over his bone white hair, blood-stained clothes and scythe... Dist looked like the very face of death itself.]
no subject
[He sees Anise come flying at her and de-materializes his spear, catching her in his arms before they're both knocked over. You underestimate Jade as usual, Saphir.]
[He was planning to run as soon as he had grabbed Anise, but a super-human vampire with a weapon puts a kink in those plans. He wasn't about to turn his back on him, so he stands in front of Anise, letting her go and hissing back to her.] Go! I'll hold him off! [Whether she ran for it or used the chance to cast some kind of arte--Not one of your Darkness-based Artes, please...--it didn't matter. He just wanted her out of Dist's way.]
My, Saphir. You were always the one to copy after me, weren't you? I'm really not surprised.
Should I call you Dist the Black Lion, now? Or have you finally decided to accept the name of Reaper? [A pissed vampire was more prone to make mistakes, and Jade is on his toes. There was no such thing as a split second, here. It was now, now, now, or never again.]
no subject
There's no way I'm leaving you here with him, Colonel.
[ - before turning to give Dist a vicious glare. Oh, it's on now.]
[She steps back, to give the two older men space to fight and - is that a fonic glyph forming on the ground there? Brace yourself, Dist.]
no subject
He swings his scythe at his older enemy, aiming for his chest or head. Anything her could lob off, really. He's not doing a very good job at protecting himself, though. And seems to have forgotten Anise. Strike now, and strike hard.
Will you kill him, though? The real Saphir is still in there. And though he's begging and pleading for death to take him and this ungodly creature to hell... do you have the heart to?]
no subject
[If anything... Now would be the time to honor his wishes. Unless there was an antidote close by, it was kill or be killed.]
[Jade dodged it as best as he could, using an opening after he struck to materialize his spear and move in to slash at him.] Anise! Now! [If she wasn't ready...]
no subject
-- smash you with a giant hammer! Miracle Hammer!
[ - seems to have increased greatly.]
1/2
AAAAAHHHH!!!
2/2
...
no subject
[He is rather surprised at Anise's strength, but doesn't say a word about it. That was best left for later. As for Dist, he steps carefully over to the vampire...]
[He was out cold. He wasn't entirely certain whether he was dead--as dead as a vampire can be--but either way, if there was a chance to save him, now was the time to take it.]
[So he picks up the lifeless body in his arms.] Anise, let's go back to Dist's laboratory. I suspect this was brought upon by his idiotic experiments.
no subject
[Seeing him like this made her feel a little terrible. That - that was a lot of blood, those were some nasty burns and - and --]
I-idiotic experiments...? [She looks shaken. Be it from the fight or from Dist's forward actions earlier that are only now catching up to her is up in the air.] Ah, right... Maybe there's an antidote or something.
[Because Dist isn't dead, right? She'll follow the Colonel closely, then.]
no subject
[And when he checks in the fridge... Hm. It was worth a shot. Worse-case, Dist died. No loss, there.] I certainly hope he hasn't contracted any blood-borne diseases... [Jade looked down at his hands and his clothing with a sigh. He would have to clean up after this.]
no subject
You said so yourself, Colonel. That Dist is as tenacious as a cockroach. He'll be okay, right?
[Her own costume had dried blood all over it, some of it fresh from Dist, and a few cuts that she'd contained. She looked a right mess, and she sighs. It was such a nice costume, too...]
no subject
[So he finds a spot on Dist that ISN'T cut or burned and carefully administers the serum. He'll be guiding Anise back from the body, now, and setting the syringe on a nearby tray.] He should be. Then again, cockroaches only have a lifespan of one year. He's long overdue.
no subject
[The serum is applied and Dist's clawed, scorched fingers twitch. He tenses, chest rising a little off the examination table a little and teeth clenching, but he relaxes. Looks like he wasn't dead after all. His breathing resumes and slowly, the claws begin to retract, his face becoming less and less ghastly pale and more like his usual ivory complexion. Dist never did get a lot of sun anyway.
He looks fairly normal now, and thought his eyes were closed, they had retained their once shimmery magenta-red color. His fangs and claws were gone, and he almost seems kind of peaceful. Except for the fact he's still a bloody mess.]
no subject
[... He did look relatively normal, now, and for that she was relieved. Anise let out a breath she didn't know she was holding. He was going to be okay, good.]
... I wonder if he'll wake, soon. We have to change him out of his clothes. [They're not only bloody, but they're a ripped mess barely hanging off of him. He'll throw a fit when he wakes up.]
(no subject)
I was tempted to have Jade pick out a heavy dose of something deadly. |Da;
