[ Presses his face into her skin with a snarl, then sits up, hovering over her. ]

You are the one who took the entire conversation as an implication that I was referring to anyone besides you and myself. I would much rather not mention anyone else while being half naked astride you. To say the very least, it's awkward. This is about nobody besides the two of us. Now is not the opportune time to be discussing the dynamics of original-replica relations.

[Glares for probably the first time ever at him. Like... actually glares.] Maybe you were right and this isn't the best idea.

[ His eyes widen slightly at that look and he glares right back at her. ] It's a little late for that.

[Huffs something like a chuckle, worming away from him.] Is it?

Yes, it is. [ Emphasizes his point by letting his weight press her down, his hand fumbling for a wrist. ]

[Sort of winces and goes still, staring at him with an odd sort of conglomeration of expressions. There's anger and there's fear and there's an underlying trace of faltering trust.] ...let go.

... [ The anger was never an issue, and having her fear him wasn't all that surprising, but that last emotion -- the one that took him some time to discern -- was the sole reason he tore his eyes away, instead looking to the floor. ] ...if that's what you want. [ Still hasn't moved, though his grip loosened. ]

[It's not, really, but she pulls away and huddles herself in the corner of the booth anyway.] ... [Rests her forehead on her knees and just sits there for a while, quiet.]

[ Eases himself upright, running a hand through his hair. She was right, of course. It was a bad idea. Lets out a much quieter sigh this time as he stands to collect what clothing he had lost. ]

[Sits forward and wraps her arms around his middle from behind, gently.]

[ Slowly drapes his shirt over one arm and pauses to glance back, careful to avoid smacking her with either wing. ]

...I should go.

[Gently presses her lips to his spine and lets him go, gathering her dress from wherever it had been left and hugging it to herself. Smiles a little at him.] ...'kay.

[ Way to send a very obvious shudder through him, Luke. Stands stock still with his fists balled and wings giving ragged flaps. ] ...

You know, I... I think... [Bites her lip, shaking her head a little.] Mm.

[ Steps away from her, but only to seat himself on the bench. Still avoiding eye contact though. ] ...what?

[Shakes her head again.] It'll just make it worse. [Smiling, but clearly not feeling the happy. Folds at the middle and picks up her bra, frowning a little at it.]

I find it difficult to believe anything can make matters worse. [ Gently tugs the undergarment from her grasp and runs his fingers along the lace. ] ...the color suits you.

[Smiles a little more, nodding.] I like it. ... [Pulls the dress on over her head, sans bra, not bothering to fix it hardly at all and moving over to press her forehead to the back of his shoulder.] It's stupid, but... I think I'm in love with you.

Matches your eyes. They're lighter than my own... [ Reaches back to run a hand through her hair, toying with the ends. At least until he chokes on nothing; must have misheard her. ] You think what's stupid...?

Everything but your skin is a little darker than mine. Swallows, shrugging a little.] It's not worth repeating.

From you being out in the sun so much. [ Turns around completely and leans against the wall, with her between. ] ...it is to me.

It's good for you. Vitamin D and all... [Just looks up at him for a while, leaning forward and kissing him very gently.] ... I love you.

Really. So much knowledge for an empty head... [ Teasing? What's that. Brushes their foreheads together, pausing before returning the kiss. ] ...that's what I thought you said.

It's part of my charm... [Kisses him briefly again.] It's stupid, but I seem to thrive on stupid...

And a strange charm it is. [ Lingers at her mouth after, almost smiling. ] You wouldn't be you without some measure of idiocy.
