[Anise blinks and stops in their walk, the city having finally coming into view. She stares at Lorelei, practically hanging off his arm now.]

W-We won? For real?!

[And Anise shakes her head, what remains of her tiny pigtails wagging to and fro.]

Not really. I-I mean, of course we'd win in the end with everyone working so hard, but...I was taken from Auldrant before we fought the Commandant in Eldrant. [There's a bit of a pause as Anise fidgets a little, nervously. She isn't sure if she should ask what's on her mind or not, fearing the answer.]

[Damnit. Anise puts on her brave face, smiling a huge, false smile and poking her cheeks. Hopefully Lorelei wasn't as well versed in Anise's quirks so he wouldn't know she was lying.]

[She pauses and curses mentally. She's usually better at masking her emotions, but, well...she really was worried.]

...What's gonna happen to Luke? He's been acting funny, and I feel like when we free you, he's just--...I feel like something bad's gonna happen.

[She doesn't need to hear anymore. Just the way Lorelei acted and that single word was enough. Anise doesn't blow up like usual, though. Hell, she doesn't even say or do anything. Sh just lets his hand go and walks away.

Unforgivable? Maybe not forever, but right now Anise just wanted to be alone and definitely not think about anything relating to the deity. She's just going to go home. Sorry, Lorelei, but Luke was her best friend. You already took Asch and Ion, and Luke, too? That's too much for her to cope with right now.]

[Lorelei just watches her walk away, guilt washing over him like a tidal wave. while he had felt guilty when he had bestowed the job of freeing him on both Asch and Luke, in this... human form, the feeling was unbearable. he felt he had to make it right to her. and not just her, but to everyone...

maybe that's why he's in human form.]

I've... given him a second chance.

[he speaks softly, and doesn't know if Anise hears him, but he says it anyway to hopefully ebb some of the guilt away.]

[She hears and slows down a little, almost looking back, but clenches her fists tightly and keeps going. If she stopped and looked back, she'd just get angry and start yelling. It wasn't worth it. She was bigger than that.

Sorry, Lorelei, but she won't forgive you right now. Maybe later, if she ever has the chance to see you again, but right now Anise really just wants to go home and be alone.]
