[Today, Abyss DR, you'll find one small child plopped down in the middle of a pathway. He blinks and squints in the sudden sunlight, then turns his head away to try and block it out, not realizing that raising your hand to do so would accomplish the same thing. Once he dares to open his eyes again...

He looks confused, then scared. Of course, he's not sure what that uncomfortable feeling is that seizes his chest and makes the beating in it increase its speed, but he knows that it's unpleasant, and it makes him want to get away from whatever's causing it.

Where was he, anyway? This was bright with colors and shapes he's never seen before, not the dark, muted walls of the castle. He shouldn't be here, right? He was told to wait. Well... dropped to the floor and continuously pushed down every time he tried to follow that man until he got the message, anyway. But that message still rings clear - he needed to stay there. And he's not there anymore.

So, he's going to try to scoot and drag his way to a space between two buildings. It doesn't look as bright, so it's practically the same thing, right? Still... where was he?]

[[OOC: Hi everyone! Luke is as new as I am to this place, and not only that, but he's only about... oh, an hour or two old. Have fun with that!]]

[What's that gesture supposed to mean? He stares with wide, questioning eyes for a second, then pats the ground in front of him. Okay, what was the point of that...?]

[...did he not get it?]

[Okay, trying something new! He scoots just a liiittle closer and holds out his hand.]

[Again, he leans away, and even curls up just slightly... And the other boy is holding out his hand.

That makes him stare again for a few seconds, then look down at his own hand, the thing he'd been using to grab onto objects or drag himself somewhere. What exactly was it, anyway?

Still... He reaches it out, slowly, to touch Ion's. Not hold his hand or anything - that hasn't happened to him before. But he is touching fingers with him.]

[That makes Ion smile, but he doesn't move to grab Luke's hand yet. It seems like it might startle him... Ion's only held hands a few times now since he was born, and most of the time it was to be dragged around somewhere. It never seemed very pleasant.]

I'm Fon Master Ion. What's your name?

[... Well, he's a little intrigued by the hand he's touching, because it looks so similar to his own. A different color, paler, but still the same shape.

So, he ignores that question (he doesn't even know what he's saying, anyway) to grab Ion's hand and pulls it closer to him, poking and pulling the fingers. At least he's somewhat gentle about the treatment.]

[Ion let's himself get pulled, still wondering just what was up with this kid bu-]

[H-Hey, that kinda tickles...! He doesn't pull his hand away, but he lets out a small giggle or two.]

[He glances up at the boy before he returns his attention to the hand - he has no idea what that noise is, but whatever.

After a moment, it seems he hasn't found what he's looking for, because he lets go of the hand and makes an unpleasant face. It looks like he's trying to frown, but isn't quite getting it right. Examining someone else's hand didn't really help him.]
