The apocalypse is nigh!
Asch agreeing to a drink with Emperor Peony? Luke studying more or less willingly? Asch chuckling? Uncle Jade?
It would appear Abyss Dressing Room has inexplicably stumbled upon the four signs of the apocalypse. This must explain why there is suddenly a horde of monsters poised to attack.Redheads! Denizens! Defend your nexus!
...Just be careful with those artes. Looks like the apocalypse is a lot fuzzier and noisier than anticipated. As such, every arte used spawns at least two dozen cheagles. And Mystic Artes spawn about fifty.
Good luck. And welcome toLuke's Asch's anyone who isn't Tear or Ion's hell.

Uh... [scratches the back of his head] Kinda. I don't know any details, but...

[Jade figures he might as well explain so there won't be any silly replica confusion going on later.]
It's to create an exact copy of an object. You were made from Fomicry, Luke, at least on my world. You're a replica of Asch.
[Yeah, better punch him in the face, he's going senile.]

[...Jade already said something like this just now... and it's not actually any more believable the second time, so Luke's going to communicate that politely and with a level head.] ... ...your world is fucked up, Colonel.

[Luke is such an eloquent lad.]
Yours is as well, I believe, with such dependency on the Score.

I - we're working on it. [he pauses] ...Asch said I should try working with His Majesty to publicly abandon the entire Score, at least in Malkuth, but that's - ...you would say that it'd end in tears and assassinations.

GAME OVER: restart y/y?]
[Who was the one responsible for teaching Luke all those lovely words...Sesseman?]
I had been partly right, I suppose. His Majesty hadn't been assassinated, but there had been lots of discontent and deaths due to people clinging blindly to the Score even after it had been abolished.
What is the Peony in your world planning on doing?

[that's what you get when you let an impressionable youth hang around the barracks.]
[Luke actually looks pretty relieved to hear that the emperor's still okay] ...he agreed to harbour me in Grand Chokmah through ND2018, at least. After that we can - I'll be in a better position to persuade Uncle that it's a stupid freaking idea to start a war because of some damn rock that's not even accurate.

[are you trying to imply that Malkuth's Imperial Forces aren't the paragons of good behaviour, morality, and clean language?]
[Jade's actually pretty glad about that too but it's not like he'll show it.] I do hope it will work, although I have my doubts. But to continue on with my tale. In ND2018, Van's younger sister, Tear, intruded in your manor in an attempt to kill Van. A hyperresonance occurred between the two of you, and you were spirited away to Malkuth territory, where you met Fon Master Ion, his guardian Anise Tatlin, and me. We were later joined by Guy, and returned you to Baticul, all the while being chased by the God-Generals. At Baticul, King Ingobert sent us to the mining town Akzeriuth as emissaries of peace, and Princess Natalia joined us.
[WHERE IS GUY WHEN YOU NEEDED HIM TO EXPLAIN THINGS. =\]

[Would I do that? ...well, he also hangs around the harbour and sailors are just as bad, I guess o/]
...Master Van has a sister? [yeah, Jade, that's pretty much the only thing that didn't go over his head in all your exposition. ...well, he's also going to sober at the mention of Akzeriuth] Natalia? Why would she - Uncle wouldn't... Kimlasca can't lose both her heirs.
[we should give him a pay cut for being inconveniently MIA. Especially since Luke's not going to believe 75% of what you say at least until later because I punched the timestream whoops]
no subject
[Humph, so long as we're clear.]
Natalia sneaked out of the castle to force her way into our group. For whatever reason, you allowed her to come along.
[Only 75%? We're doing better than we think.]
no subject
You try getting her to listen when she has an idea in her head!
no subject
[He tried. It worked. But he figured now wasn't the best time to say "Oh I bitchslapped your fiancee and it was pretty easy actually".]
Regardless of what happened there, at Akzeriuth, you Ion were tricked by Van into opening the Sephiroth seal and destroying the Tree that supported Akzeriuth, causing the city to sink into the miasma and be destroyed.
no subject
... [Luke's listening, but it all still sounds completely unreal to him. And the worst thing is that he actually might be able to believe that Master Van would use him to destroy the mining city, but it only makes sense to him because Master Van's from Daath and they have to uphold the Score. If it's true that Master Van hates the Score, then why the hell...]

After that, we discovered that the whole world was actually a floating crust supported by the Sephiroth Trees, and the land underneath it was nothing but muck and poisonous gas, called the Qliphoth. Van's goal was to destroy all the Sephiroth trees and cause the Upper Lands to sink into the Qliphoth and be destroyed, then create a replica world in its place, a world free from the Score.
