[Have a Guy. He's wandering down your corridor, still looking rather lost. Having arrived in your nexus during the cheagle-related-apocalypse and having met a variety of Lukes, none of whom apparently are quite the same as the one he's used to, Guy's utterly confused. He's been trying to get his head around it but these things are difficult.

So now he's wandering along, trying to figure this place out a little so that thinking about it won't break his brain quite so hard. He's so lost in thought, however, that he doesn't seem to see the puddle of water in front of him.

Definitely doesn't see that puddle.

Whoosh. And Guy's flat on his back, staring at the ceiling.

Help him up? Come and laugh? Drop by and say hi at least.]

[This kid's been wandering around again - something he's prone to doing right now. Arming himself wasn't exactly an issue anymore, but he's gotten a lot more to worry about since then. However, when he sees Guy - the first Guy he's met here at the nexus, he's not going to hesitate.] Guy!

[He runs over, and within seconds he's holding his hand out. And lucky you, Guy, he's so relieved to see you that he's not going to laugh either. He will be giving you a bewildered look though] What happened?

I...slipped on something. [He laughs a little sheepishly and takes Luke's hand, standing up and rubbing the back of his neck.] Ah~ That's embarrassing.

[That gets a chuckle out of Luke, though again, he's much more preoccupied by the fact that Guy is here. And what's more... well, he's not sure if this is the Guy from his "universe" (probably not), but he doesn't seem that different from the Guy he knows.

So, a sheepish hand rubbing the back of his neck, Luke just grins] Man, it's great to see you, Guy.

Oh? Been here long then? [He's assuming. Because that seems to be the reaction everyone has to him. Well, everyone being Luke since they're the only people he's met so far.]

It feels like it. I think like about... five weeks now. It sounds like a lot of people have been here longer, though... I just... [He missed you Guy. And everybody. He just has a hard time articulating it. :|

*cough* Moving on now. Still smiling a little] So, uh, when did you get here?

During the cheagle-related-apocalypse. [He laughs a little.] Man, I never expected that.

Oh. That. [Luke here has multiple not-fond memories of that day, both from all the shrill squeaking while trying to fight and from a certain troll of a Lorelei that handed him what was probably the second most unpleasant bombshell of his life. Guy is free to interpret Luke's annoyance/unhappiness however he pleases, though.]

Thought that'd be your reaction.

[He can see you laughing - or at least grinning - there.] Well obviously! I mean, whenever I used an arte I'd get covered by the things! It was worse than Mieu!

I never thought it would be that hard to fight without using artes... [Mainly because over time your body just gets used to using them without thinking whenever the opportunity presents itself.]

You got used to it. [Aww, Luke. This is what you get when you don't train, you see?

Also, just imagining you covered in cheagles is...

Okay, he caught hold the laughter any more.] How many did you end up covered with?

[Hey, some would call it good training that he's learned to use his moves without thinking about it that much (Hadn't Tear said "Don't think about your reaction, just react"?)]It was really hard, though, I kept forgetting half the time...

[... not cool bff. Not cool at all.] How should I know!? They kept running from the monsters anyways!

[Laaaaaughing.]

Did you save them from the monsters?

[He will start whining if you keep this up. Don't think he won't.]

I was kinda busy trying to keep the monsters from killing me. [And seriously, mounds of fleeing cheagles everywhere = not helping.]

Well, you know, sometimes you have to sneakily protect little furry things. You know, like you used to with Mieu.

[Oh, now he's just baiting you. Because you're reacting exactly like you should.]

[And normally such baiting would work perfectly, but this kiddo's A. homesick for Auldrant and the rest of the party, even Mieu (Natalia and the occasional odd character aren't really the same) and B. is currently deep into the "Enjoy what life/time I have left" phase. It's an effect that has only intensified with him being unceremoniously informed about the Big Bang effect by a certain troll of a Lorelei on the Cheagocalypse, and later having it explained more thoroughly by Asch.

So instead... his face does end up twitching into a bit of a scowl, but the look quickly fades into something much more melancholy. He glances away, and asks quietly] Guy... what was... happening right before you got here? Were the others alright?

[He's taking a risk. This might not be the Guy from his universe, but he could still learn at least a potential future for Auldrant, and if he learned it he'd be tempted to follow it, like another Score... but he wanted to hear how the others were doing, if they were okay.

Uh...yeah. We'd all gone back home and... [He offers a small smile.] At least, I think everyone's okay. I mean, everyone went their separate ways and...I've been busy trying to get things back in order at home.

[Okay. Okay. That... gave Luke almost nothing. Well, no that was a lie. Guy could mean that they'd done it, that they'd stopped Master Van and Eldrant, and he'd somehow made it through it all - as unlikely as that seemed right now - but at the same time, it also sounded a Guy could be talking about right after the first time they'd defeated Master Van at Absorption Gate in which case... Luke would have to be the one to make sure to not tell Guy things that hadn't happened yet. And he has no idea how to ask without making Guy suspicious! Dammit this whole nexus thing was such a pain...] Well, that's good at least...

[And now here's a slightly devious grin of his own]Emperor Peony having you look after rappigs again?

[And no, he totally does not realize that he just said the "again" part, which might look particularly suspicious if Guy really is from around Absorption Gate...]

...Again?

[The first time the Emperor had asked, Guy had definitely been unsure about it. But he'd gone through with it. Now, it happened on a fairly regular basis but... Again? How did Luke even know?]

[... What. Why are you giving him that look Guy? ... wait... unless... oh damn... this wasn't good, it meant Guy really was from Absorption Gate.... I guess it's time to come up with a good excuse!

Yeah he's got nothing. Guess we're going to have to go for the truth. Dammit...]So... has somebody explained how this place works...?

Kind of. They told it was some kind of nexus...

[He lets out a breath and smiles though he's clearly anxious about something. Something's definitely not right; he only hopes Luke is actually going to tell him what's wrong.]

[Good. That meant a little less attempting to explain at least... Since he wasn't as good as Guy.] So... people here can come from different places... or worlds, I guess... and times too.

We'd... just lowered the Outer Lands, didn't we? When you came here?

...yeah.

[Suspicious look. He'd known that was all too good to be true.]

[C'mon Guy, you're making this hard. So... how to say this anyway... um....]

Well... for me, that was about... three months ago. [Kind of worried smile here. That wasn't too bad, now was it? Better than finding out he's a girl or something. :|]

Oh.

[He lets out a breath and closes his eyes for just a moment before he looks at Luke and smiles.]

["Oh." That's what he said. Nothing else. Which meant... that he really had no idea how Guy felt about this at all.

Well, at least he wasn't asking questions?] There's... nothing wrong with it, right?

[Really Guy, 3-4 Auldranti months in the future aside, this is the most normal Luke you've met yet and he misses his best friend. Don't make him sad. :<]
