Nephry didn't get those things either, when her home was attacked!

Now she's there near the front of a building, staggering a little ways until she sinks to her knees. For a while she'll try to keep herself upright with her arm. If no one finds her fast enough, she'll fail at that, too.]

It was just...a passing feeling. It's gone now. I'm fine.

[Sleep. It sounds wonderful. But she will fight it off stubbornly as long as she thinks Jade will believe her. To stop him from worrying.]

[Wry smile, accompanied with a raised eyebrow.] You'll understand if I choose not to believe you.

[It's partially true! The severe dizziness is gone. The slightly-lightheaded feeling she woke up with is still there.

Sometimes you just can't win an argument with him. Nephry nods once, and closes her eyes. Try to sleep, he said. Well, all right.]

[He lingers for a few seconds to make sure nothing is wrong, before leaving. He'll return in a few hours with some new clothes. The first thing he does when he gets back is to head upstairs to make sure Nephry is still all right.]

[She is, indeed, just as he left her. Asleep, looking peaceful. Resting. As ordered.

It's a deeper sleep this time - a simple shake won't wake her. But nothing seems to be wrong, and she doesn't look like she's in any sort of distress.]

[After a small shake fails to produce any sort of response, he decides to leave her to sleep. She doesn't look too pale, at least. He'll remain close by though, staying in the next room, trying to gather his thoughts. It's been quite awhile since he had spent that much time with Nephry, even if she wasn't conscious during most of that period. He really ought to apologize someday for being such a negligent brother, but he can't quite muster up the strength to do so. It's easier to let things stay as they are. They'll likely go their separate ways again after she recovers, after all.]

[If Nephry doesn't wake up naturally before the evening, Jade will try wake her up again, this time with a slightly stronger shake.]

[Nephry wouldn't hear such apologies anyway. This isn't negligence.

She did wake a few times, without Jade in the room, but nothing came of them - it felt better just to fall asleep again. When he shakes her awake this time, she doesn't sit straight up or even startle. It's slow, and a bit stubborn - the way most people wake up.]

[Oh, good, her behaviour seems to be getting a bit more normal.]

It's almost sunset. How are you feeling?

[This time she will pause to think about it.]

Better. Much more like myself than I did this morning.

Good. I bought some new clothes for you. If you're feeling better, you ought to take a bath and I'll change your bandages afterwards.

That sounds excellent. [And! The headache has all but disappeared. Dizziness with it. She looks much more confident in that as she sits up straighter now.]

I imagine you don't intend to sit and watch. [Look. She's even teasing him.]

[W-well, that book was very interesting. And it's not like he stayed in this room.]

[He smiles slightly.] At least show me you can make it to the bathroom without any assistance.

[this time, she can do that. Standing up carefully, she crosses the room with a much better sense of balance. See, Jade? There's almost no waver in her step. She feels far more like herself now.]

[He sighs, although the small smile on his face is definitely not one of exasperation.]

Go ahead. Please call if you need me. Don't hesitate because you don't want to worry me, understand?

[a nice warm bath in peace is good for the soul, though. It will help.]

[He's going around dusting your room clean and opening the windows to let some fresh air in. When you come out, he'll be downstairs with spaghetti ready. He is such a good housewaifu, y/y/y?]

[My, what a surprise. Nephry comes down the stairs slowly, but steadily, joining Jade in the kitchen with a blatant expression of disbelief. She took the bandages off herself in the bath; the gash on her head is visible, her hair all loosely braided to the other side. Around the edges of it, a bruise has formed on part of her forehead, and part of her face.

But she doesn't look disoriented. Just surprised.]

[He chuckles quietly, even as he looks as her wounds, concern flickering momentarily in his eyes.] You look rather startled.

I am rather startled. ...This looks wonderful.

[And! She's actually hungry for it.]

If I didn't know better I'd think you were worried about me, Jade.

[And feels well enough to tease him.]

It would be a bother if you died on me. [Completely straight face. Their banter feels surprisingly un-awkward, actually, considering how long it's been since they had a conversation that didn't involve talking about saving the world.] I'm not quite sure where to take dead bodies, you see. Anyway, help yourself.

[Meanwhile, listening to him talk in such a cavalier manner about dead bodies is just as unnerving as always. Nephry sits down carefully, not wanting to legitimately lose her balance and be forced back to bed again.]
