[Oh hey there; guess who decided to show up after so long?]
[There's a certain Luke hanging out in the boughs of a tree, a strange looking bone mask on his face that's in the shape of a G-clef. He's wearing an entirely white outfit with black piping that looks like a cross between his usual outfit and a mad scientist's lab coat. The white isn't as pristine as it normally is, as there are flecks of blood everywhere... probably from the... hand... he's munching on...]
[...don't worry, it doesn't belong to anyone here.]
[As if that weren't enough, he's not actually sitting on a tree branch, though it might look that way at first depending on your vantage point. He's just... floating there, idly munching away on a half chewed finger on his meal.]
...Mm. Curious. I did not believe myself capable of appearing here again.

Hm... believe what you wish. I know better; my master increased my mental capacity so that I may properly serve him as his fraccion.
Tell me about this 'boring' event?
no subject
It's the definition that makes the most sense, given how many ways there are of being "born" in the worlds.
[Yes, this one's been around a bit - which is why he's not questioning the strange terminology Luke's using at the end of that comment there. He can always ask later. He doesn't like the sound of a 'master,' though - he worked too damn hard to train one replica to think for himself to like having another answer to someone else.]
The shortest version is that there was once a place called the Tower of Animus, which abducted people from various worlds. The administrators claimed that it was in the name of saving us from our worlds being destroyed, but -
[He narrows his eyes and snorts, jostling his head in Luke's hand.]
Certainly none of us were grateful for being saved. The place was a nightmare. I was there for about two years, outside the passage of time in Auldrant.
no subject
[Sounds like his kind of place. Good thing he never ended up there, because he probably would have joined up with the admins or something crazy like that.]
And whatever became of this Tower?
no subject
As far as I know, the Tower itself still exists somewhere out in the worlds, but it's empty. Some of the admins might still be there, but all of the residents were sent back to the worlds they were taken from, as though no time had passed at all.
[He smirks for a moment - yeah, admins, they made you hurt for keeping them - before his expression shifts towards a frown.]
I wasn't happy staying on Auldrant, so I left to seek out other survivors in other worlds. And that's where things are now.

[HE IS INTRIGUED, but the last part was curious.]
...so by becoming a part of Lorelei, you've been able to break the bonds of reality? Fascinating...
[...it's never good when he says that word...]

So instead of trying to look, instead he closes his eyes and lifts a hand towards the one corralling his head. The fingertips begin to glow, a few fonons separating from them towards Luke's hand.]
I wouldn't say it's because of what I am.
[A slight shrug - he wouldn't exactly describe himself as a part of Lorelei, either. If anything, he's more independent of the sentience now than he was on Auldrant.]
Others have found different ways of passing between the worlds, but it's easier for me if I don't have to keep track of keeping my organs in order in a human body. Unless there's someone I want to talk to, I usually don't bother making up a body at all.
no subject
Don't do that.
no subject
Why not?
[Because a fearful reaction - and that was fear, no matter what face you put on it - is the last thing he would have expected, from any version of them.]

[More info than that, please.]

[Luke let out a huff, folding his arms over his chest defensively.]
Last time that happened, the lab nearly blew up.
no subject
[It only makes sense, since it was being Lorelei's isofons that granted them that power in the first place. Asch drops his hand into his lap.]
I use the fonons to perceive things humans can't. That's what I was trying to do.
no subject
[Luke sounded exceptionally indignant at that.]
I merely have to access it using a different method. Forcing it otherwise has untested -- and likely unwanted -- effects.
no subject
[Obvious denial is obvious. At least he's not laughing at you?]
no subject
You are fortunate that I am under strict orders not to use it unless necessary.
[Otherwise he'd so be blowing your ass off the kingdom come.]
no subject
[Litte benefits of being composed of the Seventh Fonon, hyperresonance just makes him unable to keep a solid form for a while.]
no subject
[Luke leaned back on the air, crossing his legs and still looking highly annoyed.]
no subject
[A bit of a chuckle. This is definitely Luke, whatever else happened, which means that it's perfectly fine for Asch to relax and lean back against the tree.]
no subject
It is generally not recommended to get on my bad side, you know. I am not an individual to be toyed with.
no subject
If getting on your bad side is that easy, you need to quit taking after my old self.
no subject
[Snippy much?]
no subject
[He shrugs - for him, respect has nothing to do with dignity. He's kind of given up on the latter.]
It's funny. I never thought there would be a situation where you're the temperamental one. That's all.
no subject
[Luke narrowed his eyes at the original, and it felt like the very air around them started getting heavier. The tree creaked loudly, a few of the weaker branches snapping off from the weight.]
'Meaningless', you say...
no subject
Yes, it's meaningless. You're getting pissed off over nothing, which, for the record, is just proving me right. Save your energy for actions that mean something.
[A sigh, with a bit of running his hands through his hair.]
Then again, it's not like I listened when people told me that, either...
no subject
You're implying I'm an inferior product... in comparison to what? You?
[Luke barely moved, but it was obvious his hand was a little closer to the sword at his back.]
