Van started plotting against the Score, since it foretold the Hod War. He planned to destroy the world and create a fake one in its place that would be free from the Score.

Gailardia, I don't see how destroying the world will accomplish anything.

If I create a new world full of Replicas who know nothing of the Score... they'll be free.

Sure, you might get rid of people, and maybe the evidence that the score existed at one point, but humans are always looking for guidance. If they don't find out about the score, they will establish a new order for themselves...
