[ on second thought, she leans down and picks him up, holding him close. getting inside her room doesn't take long, and she's soon leaning over the crib to show him that nia's safe. ] Here she is.

...can I hold her?

Yeah. [ tries to smile, setting him down on the floor next to the crib and then goes to work picking up nia. ] Go sit on the bed, okay?

...can I lay down instead and we can all snuggle? (moves over to the bed)

O-oh, yeah. We could... Try? [ follows after him. ]

Okay... (lays down on his side on the bed, waiting for her)

[ gently sets nia down next to him, lying down next to her only after she was sure the baby girl was comfortable. ]

(reaches over to gently hug Nia) This is good, right? As long as we're careful?

Yes. Just be very, very careful.

...how old is she?

Almost three months old.

...that's really old.

It is. The time is passing so quickly...

I'm glad she's a little bigger... I don't have to be as careful.
