[ you may notice the rather unpleasant smell of oil and gunpowder coming from one corner of the dressing room. in said corner, you will find a pistol-wielding Luke! and for once, he's doing the smart, responsible gun-wielder thing-- cleaning his weapon! feel free to pester him. ]

[ which leaves Luke standing at the bottom of the stairs in a bit of a borderline panic. he doesn't want to follow him upstairs, but the picture... ] Asch come on, that's all I've got of him...!

[ The only response as it were is a muffled slam, possibly coming from someone or something hitting a wall. Sorry, Luke. You're going to have to go after him. ]

[ X< ] ... [ seethes, and heads up the stairs ] You'd better not let anything happen to that picture...!

[ He did hear the shouting from down the hall in their room this time, and chuckles weakly. ] Of course not...

[ finds the room Asch is hiding in and stands in the doorway, sort of sulking angrily ] The hell's your problem? You could have just given it back.

[ Seated on the very edge of the bed farthest from the door is Asch, repeatedly running his free hand through his hair only to have his wings flutter and mess it up again. ] ...sorry.

... [ walks into the room and holds his hand out for the picture before he lets himself be worried about Asch's condition ]

[ After a moment he oh so carefully places the photo in Luke's hand-- it takes a few tries, as his eyes are fixed on the window opposite of them. ]

[ ensures it is safely replaced in his wallet before sitting down on the bed, likely uncomfortably close to Asch ] The hell'd you run away for?

[ Gives him a sharp but brief look before sliding over to put some space between them. ] I didn't run away.

... [ frowns, scooting a little closer ] You sure as hell left the kitchen in a hurry.

That doesn't mean I ran away. [ Inches away again. ]

[ reaches out to grab his shoulder ] ...what'd I do?

Nothing! [ Turns, ending up smacking him with a wing. ]

[ flinches, and watches him with a sort of stung expression ] ...

[ Notices the look on Luke's face and scowls. ] ...you did nothing.

...you're really fucking confusing, you know that?

...heh. So I am. To myself, as well.

[ frowns, starting to reach for his shoulder again ]

[ Cringes at the impending contact but doesn't brush him off. ]

[ catches the cringe and hesitates, biting his lip ] ...what's wrong?

[ Will not glare at the replica. Will not glare at the replica. ] Did I not say it was nothing?

... What was it you said earlier? "I grow tired of your lies"?

...it is not a lie. There's nothing for me to say.

... [ wilts a little, frowning at his shoes for a while before getting up ] You want me to put the food away?
