Intro; away from the sun

If anyone bothers to head outside, there's a Luke leaning against a tree. He looks between being conscious and passing out though. There are small wounds scattered across his body and cuts in his clothes-- A hand twitches and if you look close enough, you can see through him to the tree at some points anyway. He breathes softly ad his eyes crack open. Even though he can't make out the images, he can feel sunlight. Isn't that a good sign?

"...Did.. Did it work?"

[ Oh ho. Another Luke, and a new one at that! This Luke spots the other replica from a fair distance away and wanders closer, sprinting the rest of the way upon seeing that he's not just resting and kneels to check on him. ]

Hey..! Are you alright?

Someone's talking to him. Come on Luke, speak. You can do this, it's not that hard! He bits the inside of his cheek to motivate himself, to show he can still control his actions.

"Where... are we?"

[ That's a relief. Since he can talk, that should mean he isn't hurt too badly if at all. She hesitates for all of a second before tossing propriety out the window and looking under his clothes for injuries. ]It might be hard to believe, but not Auldrant. Though that doesn't matter right now.

Luke is pretty much limp and or numb in most of his main limbs so he's just going to sit there wondering why she's doing this when suddenly he feels she's looking a little too close. He falls forward, startled as a hand moves to his abdomen.

"I-I'm fine.. And... What do you mean?" Not Auldrant? Then where.. is his world?

[ His sudden movement surprises her and she flails, her hands flying up to catch him at the shoulders and act as support for the both of them. Damn stubborn redheads. Why can't they ever accept help when they need it? ]

You don't look fine! And other than familiar monsters, this world is completely different. There's no fon belt for starters.

.. No.. No Fon Belt?

His eyes grow wide and his pupils shrink. That's insane! How is that possible? He looks over to her, adrenaline letting him move. "Then what about artes and.. and.. How are we.. How am I.. " How he's able to stay here is amazing him so far, but not as much as the fact that the Luke he's staring at.. is a girl. Yeah, he can catch onto it.

[ Her head tilts to the side and she frowns, not at all happy that he's not taking it easy. ]

Hey, hey. Calm down, okay? We can perform all kinds of artes just fine and we're still as stable as we were back on Auldrant. I don't really get it myself, but maybe the lack of a fon belt is why we haven't disappeared.

Alright, he's calming down now. It's just a really big shock that he's being allowed to live again, even though he prepared himself for the worst. Breathing in and out, he looks over.

"O-Okay. I.. get it. Sorta." His gaze falls down.

[ Well now she's feeling pretty guilty about being so mean. The poor kid is new and lost, like she herself once was. Now trying to give him a small smile of reassurance, her hand comes up to brush the hair out of his eyes. ]

Sorry.. It's just you don't look too well. If you don't mind, can you tell me what's the last thing you remember?

That's.. actually a good question. What exactly can he remember? Moving back against the tree, he looks over to her and breathes through his nose. There was Eldrant, and Van, and Guy and...

"... Lorelei. I used the key and... I was being lowered and.. Asch.." He holds his head. After that, there's nothing he can see.

[ Dropping her hand to the ground, she gives him a slow nod and remains silent for a time, thinking. ]

...you did a good job, I'm sure. Everyone would be proud of you.

Well that's what he hopes anyway. There's a nod, and he looks around. "... So what else is there around here?" Oh, and even though he has a good idea of the other's name, he holds his hand out.

"I'm Luke."

Anything you could imagine can be found somewhere in this place. There's enough room for all of us, plenty of food, a massive library.. The works.

[ Now beaming, she takes his hand with a laugh. ] Same here.

He returns the smile. "That's amazing!" He's starting to feel better to, so he begins to stands up. Stretching his torso, he takes a look around.

"So you can do anything here?" Sounds like the general idea.

[ Pushing herself up to stand with him and dust her pants off, she gives him another nod. ] Whatever you like! I'm studying to learn how to use fonic artes myself.

Whoa, she can use fonic artes? Guy never really taught him how to use them so he usually kept those kinds of things to the others. His face widens with amazement.

"Really? What do you know?"

[ Oh dear. She only just recently took up the challenge of trying to use spells, and with having to study discreetly it's been a slow process. ..never mind the fact the book is generally far above her reading level. ]

Um, I don't.. really know how to use any yet. But I'm getting an idea of how the glyph for Energy Blast works.

"Well, I think that's still neat!" He keeps the smile on and tilts his head. Energy Blast is the one that.. Jade uses. Or that's what he can remember anyway.

"So how's that going then?" His hands are kept at his sides.

[ She bites her lip as she digs through a pants pocket, extracting an annoyingly thick book. ]

I think it's going rather well, though I bet Asch would tease me for how long it's taking to get the hang of the basics.

Oh wow. How'd she do that? He stares at the book and looks up at the mention of Asch.

"Hah.. Maybe.. Probably..?" There's a weak laugh but he straightens up again. "Well, it's not exactly like hyperresonance, right?"

Nope. That's what I'm counting on. [ Magic pants, that's how she does it. The amount of junk she totes around on her would shock most people. The laugh catches her attention and she meets his eyes, looking apologetic. ] ...I'm sorry, it just slipped out.

"Huh? N-No, it's fine, just..." How does he put it this way. His hands move in circles for a few moments and he shrugs. "I just didn't really know him that well, and then.... It's weird." Another shrug of the shoulders.

"Nothing to apologize for."

[ While part of her wants to hug him and try to give him some semblance of comfort, that would be more than a little awkward for having only met him a short time ago. She runs a hand through her hair, sighing. ]

You might not have known him that well, but he was still a part of you and it hurts to lose him. I know what it feels like.

"Ah..." In that small moment of doubt, he overlooked the fact that the other Luke had an Asch too. Looking up, he waves his hand. "I-I should be the one who's sorry now!"

"Really.. I completely disregarded your view... Sorry." He smiles, but it's small.

[ Blinking, her head leans to the side. What's he apologizing for? ]

Huh? Oh! No, it's okay! He's fine now. More mellow and still as smug as ever, but fine.
