007 - Valentines~

[Trotting along through the village is a very familiar looking doll. It's Tokunaga, complete with passenger. However...something seems definitely off about both. For one thing, the giant stuffy is wear a black hood over his head, shadowing his button eyes and making his Cheshire cat grin all the more spooky. He's also sporting an odd heart pattern painted in red on his tummy. Secondly, he's dragging a large, heavy axe along behind him. And third...he's singing, even though his face retains it's usual forever grinning look that could make grown men wet themselves.]

[As he goes on, his passenger remains...oddly silent, and strangely hidden. Anise is riding him backwards, holding to one of his ears with one hand while the other is holding a bright red parasol with black trim. The symbol on the parasol looks strange...like a heart growing out of a rose, with a crown on top. It was bold and black, standing out against the bright red. The girl was also wearing a ruffly red gown, that looked like something royalty might wear. The ruffles were white, and the gown had black as well as white and gold trim. There were many hearts incorporated in said trim.

Her face hidden in the shadow of her parasol, Anise rides along on her walking, talking dolly, who's singing merrily, that grin large and almost more frightening than usual. Both passenger and taxi give off a strange dark aura.

Something is definitely amiss. ...Perhaps they've gone mad?

Ah, but...we're all mad here~ ♥]

[OOC: Make way for the Queen of Hearts! ...No, seriously, you better get the hell out of Anise's way if executioner!Tokunaga tells you to. You piss Anise off, and it's "off with your head". Friends, foes, acquaintances...anyone is subject to the Queen's wrath. This is also a kindasorta placeholder until tomorrow-ish. It's close to 4am, and I haven't done my homework for Monday yet, derp. orz]

Poor, poor Luke... The queen is thinking hard. She's plotting various methods to trap you, and plucks out a few ideas. That giant stuffy is also leering at you, though staying stark still until his queen orders him.]

Oh, no, no~! In fact, my ace and I were looking for a poor, heathen fool who'd been painting my roses red. [She smiles wickedly, twirling her parasol.] I've only met one person thus far with a brush.

[Luke tilts his head at the situation. I was fixing light bulbs, woman, does it look like there's anything red on that paint brush?]

I can assure you, Your Majesty, I would do no such thing. I've simply replaced a few light bulbs and repaired various mechanic objects throughout this area. [Please don't eat me.]

[Pfff, I swear, these idiots always have some angst going on in their lives. We're so vile. CRAI MOAR, ABYSS CAST.

It doesn't matter. The queen is much too fickle to care. Besides, who says you didn't just clean it off? She closes her parasol and taps it on the ground, frowning a little. Tokunaga glances from her to Luke slowly, but doesn't do anything. Not yet, though his hold on his axe is tight. Come on...give him something to do...]

And how can I certain you are telling me the truth? Have you any proof? You have a brsh here, too! A very suspicious thing to have indeed if it's fact you speak!! If you've nothing to prove your innocence, not a witness to say otherwise, then I find you guilty!

[It could be worse! I think.]

[...Crap, she seems annoyed. He offers an awkward laugh.]

The only possible witness I could offer isn't someone I'd like to get involved, and I've no way of knowing whether he was actually a witness or not. [Which is to say, Engel is sort of handwavily following this kid around all the time anyway, but Luke is so not letting you anywhere near him if he can help it. He takes a solid step backward at this point, harmlessly putting a hand behind him.] If Your Majesty would accept some other form of proof, such as being shown what I have spent the morning doing that doesn't involve painting your roses? [Where the hell are these roses of yours, anyway?]

[Still. Not. Helping. 8|

...Why are you laughing, Luke? That sounds mighty suspicious, and a smirk curls on her lips. The queen narrows her eyes and taps her parasol to the ground again.]

An accomplice!? So you weren't alone in your misdeeds!! [Yes, she is twisting around your words, Luke, and no, you better not call her out on it, you've been trapped, and she seems to happy about it~ But her eyes suddenly widen and Tokunaga makes a step forward, closer to his queen, when Luke reaches behind himself.] What are you doing? Are you hiding something...? Ace!

[And without hesitation, Tokunaga reaches out with his clawed hand to grab at the redhead. run y/n?]

[Because we forgot that you're crazy right now and thought it might help. Clearly we were very mistaken. Luke resists the urge to facepalm when she spouts off about an accomplice. Did they always have to be so crazy? Sigh. He takes a rather collected few steps backward from the giant paw, pulling his hand away from the small of his back.]

[See, what few people know about this Luke is the fact that he carries a gun. He hates the thing, and hates even more to use it, but he's so out of practice with a sword that he doesn't trust himself to protect himself, much less anyone else, with one.]

[So right about now, "Ace" as you seem to be called, you're getting a .9mm pointed in your general direction from the redhead you just grabbed for, who is still taking slow steps backward. He's not ~~very~~ stupid.]

[We're all mad here, Luke, aren't you paying attention? 8| And all ways are the Queen's way, so you better believe she'll twist things to her favor. Or try to.

When the gun is pointed at him, Tokunaga holds out his large axe in response, grinning, though it's far more threatening than usual. Anise stares at the object curiously, blinking for a moment, then huffsIt's a good thing you didn't point that at her first, Tokunaga would have swung that axe at you to protecting his queen automatically.]

Y-You dare to threaten my soldier?! Such a thing will cost you you head!

[That's all Tokunaga needs. He approaches Luke with a savage look in his eyes, holding that weapon easily in one hand, high above his head and ready to bring it back down again.]

[Luke's not one for fairytale madness, sorry. :|]

[He's got no intention of shooting the Queen; she'd likely be defenseless without her overgrown stuffed animal anyway. He takes another few solid steps backward and pops the gun off safety, pulling back to roll a bullet into the barrel.]

I merely react in self-defense, Your Majesty. Had your soldier not first made a grab for me, my gun would have stayed where it was.

[He's still mostly trying to get away without violence, but the gun is staying loaded and ready to fire just in case.]

[Oh, how right you are, Luke. Anise still knows a few of her artes, but it's nothing compared to the protection of her dolly. Tokunaga lumbers after Luke, his steps gaining speed as he goes. His grin seems far wider than normal, and his eyes glint wickedly.

Anise doesn't reply, just snaps her parasol open and holds it above her head, twirling it around again. With a curt wave of her hand, Tokunaga finally charges at the redhead, swinging his axe at any part of him he could possibly reach and sever.]

[So much for getting away without violence. As the axe swings Luke pulls the trigger thrice, aiming for the center of Tokunaga's head (but low enough to where it wouldn't hit Anise were it to penetrate the doll). He continues to move away from the advancing creature, kicking his nearly-forgotten toolbox and flipping a spare wrench into his free hand. That's there for further projectile, given he has limited bullets.]

[He takes a quick glance beyond Tokunaga for possible escape routes, idly wondering if it would make a difference to duck down a hallway or into a room. ...Probably not, given the puppet would likely just smash through the doorway. :|;;]

[When the shots were fired, Tokunaga grabbed Anise and, sorry Your Grace, swatted her away gently. Just enough to knock her out of the way just in case and take the full blunt of the attack. He stumbles a little with a rather decent sized hole in his plush head, lowers angrily, and aims another swipe of his axe at Luke.

Whether you run into a hallway or not is up to you, Luke, but you better decide fast. No one puts his queen his jeopardy and lives to tell the tale. Anise seems a little jostled, but she's fine. Just holding her head dizzily.]

[Narrows his eyes slightly. Hmm. With Anise jostled and set aside, Luke could... possibly even fairly easily get to her and stop the attack entirely. He wouldn't attack someone who had his Queen hostage, now would he? Luke is relatively confident that, given the size difference, he has agility on his side, but...]

[He frowns.]

[He can't really bring himself to use Anise as a hostage, crazy or otherwise. So instead he takes advantage of one of Tokunaga's wide axe swings and rolls forward, making a mad dash for a nearby hallway. Follow me if you must, crazy toy!]

[Tokunaga would have hesitated if his queen were taken hostage, undoubtedly. But seeing as how she is not, the large dolly tilts his head and watching Luke roll away, then run off to a nearby hall. Tokunaga follows swiftly, leaving a slightly dazed Anise behind, and tries to squeeze through that narrow hallway. If there's one thing Luke has that Tokunaga doesn't, it's the advantage of size. Luke's a lanky little beanpole, and Tokunaga is big. He scarapes his claws along the walls as he watches Luke rush off as he struggles to follow, instead opting to swinging his paws and making a path. He climbs through the rubble and looks through the dust, trying to locate where Luke ran off to, singing softly.]

[We sort of figured you'd make a mess to get to us. It's still a little frustrating, and a tad alarming to know that he can't really get away. Luke skids around a corner and books it off down another hallway, reveling in the fact that he can at least slow the beast down.]

[And good god that singing is creepy. He hesitates and runs down a hall that will take him back out toward where Anise is. Maybe if he can talk sense into the Queen...]

[Hey, it's his head or yours, Luke. If he doesn't bring backs yours, his queen will throw a fit. That's not something Tokunaga is willing to sacrifice. His singing gets softer as he wanders around, trying to locate the escapee, holding his axe tightly. He really is getting frustrated as well, with all these small, narrow passageways, and growls.

Anise is also wandering around, but mostly in circles where she was left before. She frowns, and huffs, then sits on her rear, snapping her parasol open as she takes a single white rose from a pocket of her gown. Slowly, she begins to pluck at the petals. Whatever, when her ace shows up with that boys head, she'll be pleased, and her boredom will be sated.]

Boo...to leave me here with no form of entertainment. Ace, you scoundrel!

[ooc; ugh, six days later. I ...hit a massive RP slump and life slump and everything else some handful of hours after you posted this and have just kind of... lost my motivation to finish this thread which is upsetting. :| But I figured I'd let you know, and you can decide handwavily what else went down, I leave Luke to your mercy, fff. I should be back to posting with him eventually, but I just kind of lost my drive and haven't done anything since that last comment of mine. :|]

Fff I know how that goes, hon. D: *Big hug* I actually have no internet right now, we got slammed with a massive wind/snowstorm that took out power to a big chunk of the region, and am leeching off the campus wifi. :| I'm just sorry you feel so yuck. As for Anisuuu...Well, seeing as how the Colonel took her out ~~permanently~~, we'll just say Luke escaped with minor injuries. Maybe he knocked Anise out or something? :| Idfk, but I doubt he'd have the guts to kill her, even if she is a sadistic little demon spawn.

♥ I just wanted to let you know; it's nothing personal, I just hit a brick wall of fail. >>; And yikes! We had a crapton of snow a couple of weeks ago, but we only lost power for about six hours. Also gbrjkfdsh encouragementLuke is precious. gnfkdbh.

That sounds fine. And no, he wouldn't have killed Anise. He still hates killing people, he hates even firing his gun. So the worst Anise would have suffered from him would have been an unceremonious kidnapping or blunt trauma to a pressure point to know her out. I'll just say he got knocked around a little and we'll be good. ♥

Longest time we've been without power. And thiss no internet, phone, or TV, methinks. And I'm glad you like, it was my first attempt at doodling him, without reference. :| He's hard to draw, the little bugger.

Yeah, most likely the latter. That'd suffice to make her stop, and her dolly, too, since Tokunaga reacts to her fonslots and those don't exactly work if she's unconscious. And that works, yes. Poor things, I'll have to post up something...eventually - when I get power back and uni doesn't suck so hard - to show she's better. Prolly not for a while, though.

ffff. See, I'm the exact opposite, I picked right up on drawing Luke. Can't draw him half as well if his hair's still long, which makes no sense since I can usually manage Asch all right, but eh. Drawing. It is a difficult thing. :|;;

Yeah. He probably knocked her out, waited for a while, and when Tokunaga didn't come barreling through the hallway after his head for half an hour+, deemed it safe to disappear off the face of the planet in case they were still crazy and he tried to emerge. I'm gonna have to do something with Luke before too long, he's a whiny little attention-seeker and he misses his pidgeon. :|

I think I just need reference shots of him that I can actually print out without them being GINORMOUS. Oh, and cutting off half his legs. That kinda sucks, too. I usually can draw anything after sketching it in horrible detail once and just doodling around from there. Asch was like that for me, I needed reference of his bloody [har, pun /shot] outfit. As for long hair.... I have a slight fetish with long hair, so I love drawing it. |D;; And yes, drawing is not easy. :|

PFF I imagined the most hilarious scene ever in my head by that description alone, idfk how, but I did. And gnn...poor Luke. Don't beat him up too bad, Anise still needs to latch to him forever after this. |D But yes, Engel is awesome and I want to keep him. Sol is a brilliant player and I wish I wasn't so shy to actually tell her fff... ;;;

I... know the first thing I drew of Luke took me a lot longer than it takes me to scribble him now (ie, that icon up there of him with the fork in his mouth is something I drew in pen on receipt paper at work), but tbh I can't remember how long it took me and how many references I had. Generally speaking I'm sitting in front of the computer when I draw or I would carry around the info booklet in the game box if I needed costume reference. Clothes is generally what I have the most trouble with. :\

fffff. A lot of things involving my Luke are pretty hilarious. He can make painting a room turn into petty arguments and shower sex, for god's sake. :|;;; And he won't be-- at least not from Anise. I've got other things that I need to start rolling with him, and if anything that'll be what has him in less than stellar condition. And pfffft, I've known Sol for a little over a year now, she doesn't bite. If anything, she's probably just as or more shy than you are, lolol. But she's totally awesome and Engel is ...probably my favorite Asch these days. I've got a friend that writes Asch exquisitely in-character for game canon but still manages to make him tolerate Luke (...that is,

highmaintanance's Original) and he's... probably my favorite, hands down, but Engel is definitely a close second. gndjfkgfh.

I...think the first picture of that I drew of Asch that I really needed his reference shots was that one of Engel and Anise I drew, HAHA. I really do want to do a trio pic of the redheads and Anise together, since I've had the idea in my head for a while, just never got to it. [That fork icon is so precious, btw. ♥] I'm also not sure if my copy of Abyss has the booklet. I had to order it offline, but it'd perhaps one of my prized possessions and something I'd run back into a burning house screaming to retrieve. /cough. AND YES CLOTHES. CLOTHES AND HAIR. Curse those crazy anime characters and their gravity-defying hair. 8|

He's easily tied with another Asch I know for favorite Asch ever. Engel was my favorite before I met the other, so I think he maaaay be closer to first, too~

I usually draw him without it if at all, though I also tend to draw him/Luke/pretty much everyone in civvies instead of their wonky costumes because my strongest Abyss... muse set and interested and whatever is the modernized OU/AU mashup. callie_chan because she writes Jade and wanted myself and

synthesize to know her canon, but then we loaned that copy to my sister and her roommate,

synthesize bought a second copy for herself and before my sister and her roommate lost the first copy I moved out and was given the copy of the game for myself. ...That was a long drawn-out explanation that was completely not necessary, fffff. And I have less trouble with hair than I do clothes. Hair, hands and facial expressions have always been my strong points. :o
