[so there's this flower field, you see. and it's pretty and full of flowers, you see. and in this field of flowers, is a sleeping body, you see. and that sleeping body happens to be a physical embodiment of Lorelei, you see.

[Sorry, Lorelei, but you're not getting off so easily. Anise isn't exactly all too happy about the stuff they had to go through, and the people they had to lose along the way. She doesn't meet his eye, and instead starts plucking flowers from the surrounding area.]

If it weren't for the Score, for you, A-Arietta, Sync, the Belkend researchers, Asch, a-and Ion...they'd still be alive. I wouldn't have been used by Mohs, and my parents would have been safe!

[A pause, as Anise winds the stems of the flowers she plucked.] ...But without you, I'd still be poor, mama and papa would get hurt everyday, I wouldn't have met all my friends, Luke and Ion wouldn't even exist...and we'd never be able to change how things were. So, I-I guess I can't be too mad. You helped us all out a lot, too.

[One of these days she's gonna really wonder how she became so forgiving. Maybe it was her friends, forgiving her that one time, when she made a huge mistake. For now, though, Anise just puts the flower crown she made right on Lorelei's head.]

[Lorelei remains quiet, mulling over the events that not only did Luke and Asch had to endure, but the others acquainted with the both of them. And despite Auldrant being a better place, the journey that the group had to go through and the sacrifices made still hurt him deeply.]

[Anise won't apologize, not yet, but she will scuttle a little closer and take the young man's hand, giving it a little squeeze with her much littler one. When she speaks again, her voice is quiet and questioning.]

You never wanted any of that to happen...did you?

[he doesn't expect an apology, especially when he knows Anise is speaking the truth.]

[Aw, Lorelei, you look like Luke when you pout like that, and though she hasn't completely forgiven you for all the muck they had to go through on their journey, she will cuddle up closer and give the deity a hug. Completely free of charge.]

In the end, though, you helped us all save the world. And if you think about it...you created a hero. [Since Luke was made up of the seventh fonon, being a replica and all.] The things that happened, the people who died, it can't be helped, right? Being sad and crying won't do anything. You have to keep moving forward, for everyone's sake.

[Again, she didn't meet his eye, and her voice cracked at the end. It's doubtful whether or not she's even talking to Lorelei himself anymore, at this point, but she does increase her grip on him and snuggle her face against his chest. He really was a lot like Luke and Asch. Warm like Luke, but strong like Asch. It was strange, but oddly comforting.]

[it takes a moment for him to move, but when he does, he gently wraps his arms around Anise.]

I know. And I'm proud for what they have done. For what you all have done.

[She smiles weakly and nuzzles her face against his chest. She didn't know the outcome of their battle, since she had been taken right before the final one, but she assumed they won. She hoped they won.]

[And Anise shakes her head, what remains of her tiny pigtails wagging to and fro.]

Not really. I-I mean, of course we'd win in the end with everyone working so hard, but...I was taken from Auldrant before we fought the Commandant in Eldrant. [There's a bit of a pause as Anise fidgets a little, nervously. She isn't sure if she should ask what's on her mind or not, fearing the answer.]

Is something wrong?

[Damnit. Anise puts on her brave face, smiling a huge, false smile and poking her cheeks. Hopefully Lorelei wasn't as well versed in Anise's quirks so he wouldn't know she was lying.]

[he may not know Anise as much as his scions do, but he does know when someone's lying...]

[She pauses and curses mentally. She's usually better at masking her emotions, but, well...she really was worried.]

...What's gonna happen to Luke? He's been acting funny, and I feel like when we free you, he's just--...I feel like something bad's gonna happen.
