As a result of this fact, seeing Asch sitting at a table with that smug "I'm better than you" look of his shouldn't really take too many people by surprise. Oh, sure, the lack of any discernible agitation is probably a little disconcerting as is the presence of a deck of playing cards set upon the table within easy reach of his right hand. Of course, this Asch is a little different from most, missing anger notwithstanding; it isn't too hard to tell he is a fair bit older, somewhere within his early-to-mid twenties.

Regardless, he is Asch. And he? He is challenging you to a game of poker.

[ooc; Unlike swallowfury, Asch here is definitely not reset, so he retains any CR he had from the last time I was around a couple years back. Of course, he's not going to come out and just let you know who he is; he feels like being a bit of a jerk, so even if you do know him, he's going to leave you guessing. Especially. If you're a certain replica. Why? Because he can. And, no, he's not going to deal cards to kids. But he might go into papa mode on them.]

["It's too flashy and that damn demon face is ridiculous. And that says nothing for this room..." Although, if Aidan likes it, he's fine with it.]

[ "Like you've got a lot room to talk about style after going around in tights." She's always wondered about that part of the uniform. "...we can change things around later, if that's what you want. It was just something to keep busy anyway." They'd come up with the cheagle idea together since it was a simple image to emulate; a circle with two ovals for ears. ]

["It was a uniform. It was easier to just stick with that one than to worry frivolously about changing it into something more distinct." Somehow, that Asch had been the only God-General to maintain a uniform that was exceptionally similar to standard Oracle Knights says volumes about how little he cared about his clothes - which is ironic considering how he clearly maintained his hair damn near to perfection. "Besides, it offered more protection than some of their modifications." Except Largo's, anyway. It could say something about Asch that he stuck with practicality for his uniform - something that, among the higher-ups, only Largo and Van seemed to value in that same way.

"If Aidan likes his room like this, it's fine. The rest..." The rest, he insists on changing after he's rested.]

[ "I suppose you've got a point about fiddling with the design, but didn't the flaps get in your way a lot? Pants and a shirt would've saved even more effort if you wanted to go simple." Thought really, for an outfit that was remarkably basic compared to his associates, Asch's uniform held a special fascination for her. Maybe later...

"He's a kid. Make it bright and fun, and he doesn't mind what's on the walls." Asch might not be able to see it, but there's a definite pout in her voice. "I'll find somewhere else for the chimes." ]

["Tabbard. And no, it didn't get in the way. Rather, it covered my armor quite well, something a simple shirt and pants would not have accomplished. You seem to forget that some of us prefer proper protection when fighting on the front lines." Yes, he's insulting your terrible choice in attire for a fighter, Luke.

Asch goes silent after that, though.]

[ "I wasn't exactly expecting one of my training sessions to drop me in the middle of Malkuth, you know! It'd be stupid to wear full armor for a spar!" Oh, she gets it. Hence her embarrassment and disinclination to press the decor issue. ]

["That's what you wore for training?" Luke, you've just made Asch's opinion of you drop a little. But he still loves you, don't worry.

His mental voice might sound a little sleepy, by the way.]

[ "N..nothing else was comfortable..." Stupid dreck was stupid and spoiled, what did you expect? She had whined so much after being forced into proper gear the first time that nobody dared try again.

She goes quiet for moment, then gives a slight nudge to make sure he's listening. "Will he be okay there?" Having their son somewhere he could roll off didn't seem very safe in her mind. ]

[He doesn't respond at all to her little comment about the clothes, but he does respond to the nudge, opening his eyes and contemplating her question for a moment. Then he looks down at Aidan with a small frown. "...Our bed would probably be a better idea.]

[ With a nod, she wiggles out of his grasp to sit up and reach for Aidan, but pauses just before picking him up. "You wanna carry him, or should I?" Hope you realize how generous she's being, Asch. If anyone else was sleepy and wanted to carry Aidan, the answer would've been 'HELL NO!' ]

[Maybe it's because, even sleepy, he's way more careful than most people are awake. "I'll do it." Because he doesn't want to let go of his son just yet. Which means he's shifting carefully so as not to disturb Aidan's slumber as he stands, holding Aidan in his arms.]

[ Luke doesn't say anything either way, though Asch can probably sense a great deal of reservation through their connection as she hovers by his elbow. Someone is totally getting evaluated on his papa skills here. ]

[Luke really shouldn't worry so much; Asch is very careful with Aidan as he makes his way to their bedroom, pausing for a few moments as Aidan shifts and makes a grab for his hair, grasping it lightly. This makes him smile just a small bit - just a slight twitch of the corners of his lips - before he starts walking again, sitting on the edge of the bed with Aidan still held in his arms.]

[ Hey, Luke's just being the best mother she can be. Which means that any and all persons are suspect when it comes to the safety of Aidan, Asch included. Doubly so when she's not certain just how tired he is emotionally or physically. But once both boys are seated, she deems that fear was for naught - keep Asch away from holes in the ground and he's a fairly safe person to be around.

She lingers in the doorway with a brighter smile of her own, content with watching the two. "...he looks so much like you." ]

[Asch would like to remind her that the hole was not there when he stepped on that section of the floor. B|

Asch lays back carefully, shifting himself fully onto the bed and moving in on it so there's no risk to Aidan, who is resting peacefully on his papa's chest. "Hm. I guess he does." He takes a moment to glance at her, quirking up an eyebrow as if to ask what she's doing all the way over there.]

[ ...so he took the stairs instead and walked right into the trap? 8|a Oh Asch, you goober.

Just admiring the view. Having only known life with one distant and one disinterested parent, Luke had to take the time to marvel at the difference between the manor's family dynamics and their own. Maybe it was her own naive opinion, but she felt this was how families were supposed to be. "You guess?" ]

[No, the floor opened up under him and then closed back up, same as it did to Luke.

"I guess. ...Come over here." He wants to sleep and he wants both of you there with him while he does, damnit.]

[ Oh, well. In that case he's excused. Or at least put on the same rung of the fail ladder as her.

"It's true." Somebody's awfully demanding today. Not that Luke takes issue with curling up alongside her two favorite people in the entire world. She eases herself onto the bed near Asch, placing a hand on Aidan's back to feel the slight rise and fall as he breathes. ]

And now he's going to wrap one arm around her, closing his eyes; really, he's only demanding because he's Asch been gone so long, so he wants to keep his replica and his son as close as possible.]

[ Only because of age/lack of experience. He's had several more years to practice hiding his fail. That's the real cause for his snark.

Both reasons are perfectly viable and acceptable to her. She wouldn't trade this time together for anything, not even fun private parent time. ... For the most part. But she's fine with waiting. Though if Asch sleeps too long, he might wake up to a nasty surprise... ]

[Dare I ask what that surprise would be? Now that he has his family curled up with him, Asch is starting to drift off again.]

[She'd seriously tie up her fiancé when he's exhausted from doing everything within his power to try to find his way back to her? She realizes how badly that will backfire, yes? Well, at least now he knows he'll need a good bath once he wakes up...]

[ Not right away? She's probably smart enough to wait a week or so before trying something so stupid. There's always the option of leaving him a wrapped present instead. He can help give Aidan his bubble bath with the help of Mieu! Who will have also joined the family cuddling, by the way. ]
