Asch agreeing to a drink with Emperor Peony? Luke studying more or less willingly? Asch chuckling? Uncle Jade?

It would appear Abyss Dressing Room has inexplicably stumbled upon the four signs of the apocalypse. This must explain why there is suddenly a horde of monsters poised to attack. Redheads! Denizens! Defend your nexus!

...Just be careful with those artes. Looks like the apocalypse is a lot fuzzier and noisier than anticipated. As such, every arte used spawns at least two dozen cheagles. And Mystic Artes spawn about fifty.

Heh... well, it's kind of a preference I picked up after everything, y'know? [ Said, of course, as he pushes back another of the monsters. ]

Yeah, but for you to be so proficient at it... I don't think I could ever learn a new way of fighting so quickly. [ Somebody is under the mistaken impression that they're the same age, not that he has a reason to think otherwise. ]

"Quickly," huh.

...unless you never bothered with a sword? You don't look too much older than me.

No, I used a sword back then. [ He has a knowing grin as he kicks another Ligan back. ]

I get the feeling that I'm missing out on something. [ Since he's finished with his first monster, Luke'll just be coming over there to help. ]

I get the feeling you're missing a lot. [ And the Ligan gets a dropkick! :D ]

[ Somebody's waaaay too chipper about this whole thing. ] Least I know it's not just me, then...

[ Apparently Asch has rubbed off on him a bit. Plus, it's been a while since he's been able to just let loose and tear it up in battle - all of his recent battles have either been against people or smallfry monsters, so he's either held back a bit to avoid killing anyone or he hasn't really needed to put much effort into his fights. This is therapeutic. Almost as therapeutic as punching Obsidian in the face. Almost. ]

[ That could explain this poor replica's confusion; most of his other selves he'd met hadn't been so, er, evasive and excitable about the prospect of being overrun by monsters. Or cheagles, though none of them had even dreamed this many of the fuzzballs existed. Luke was content to sit back and chill with his one cheagle, thank you kindly. HMM. Obsidian in a horde of cheagles would drive the bastard crazy... ] ...I can sit this one out, if you want. You could probably take the rest on by yourself.

Having to fight without using artes sucks. It's like being constantly out of TP!

[ Luke doesn't really have any words for the fourth wall break, lol. ] It just means you have to get creative. [ And he punches one of the remaining ligans straight up into the air before delivering a roundhouse kick to it. ]

[ Or would that be the 3.5 wall break when it's mentioned in-game? xD ] Easy for you to say. [ Though he dashes around to slash the ligan Luke just nailed back towards him. Monster tennis, anyone? ]

[ Luke's better at monster soccer, it looks like. ] Seems to me you're getting the hang of it just fine.

[ They'll just have to improvise on a game, in that case. ] One question, though: what the heck are we going to do with all these cheagles?

[hymnotic]

[ ...You know, he hadn't even thought about that. ]

Find Tear and give them to her as a present?

[ It's probably not good that he thinks this is a great idea. ]

We'll need a huge box to put them all in.

[ Oh, come now. It's a fantastic idea. At least they'd be well cared-for.

Meanwhile, it looks like they've finished off the monsters, hurray! ] ...It should probably have holes in it, too...

[ Until Tear demands an explanation on where they came from and why they shoved the poor things into a box.

Doot do de doo! Gained howevermuch EXP! ] And with this many, it'll have to have wheels so we can move it.

[ "W-well, we had to get them to you somehow. And look, we even made sure they could breathe! :D" ...No good?

Luke smiles at the wheels comment before dropping down to one knee to check on the cheagles; he knows he stepped on a few of them, even if it was an accident. ] I wonder if they're alrigh-

[ He's cut off by a few cheagles jumping onto him and clinging - apparently their showing appreciation. ]

[ That might work! Or even just a large cart should be enough to tote them all around without making Tear mad. They could be part of the circus! ]

I still have some gels, if they need it.

[ Once reminded of the cheagles having been in the line of fire, he turns, wobbling precariously for a moment, to give the other half of their charges a once-over. Though when he glances back over his shoulder to let Luke know they're fine, he has to laugh at the furry critters dangling from him. ]

Nice ornaments.

[ What may be surprising is that Luke actually looks perfectly content to let the cheagles cling; he's even petting one of them. ] They look like they're alright.

[prismshards]

[ The damn things weren't too irritating if they kept quiet, not that Luke would want them latching onto his clothes like that. ] That's a relief. Can you imagine what a pain it'd be to make a splint that small?

[hymnotic]

Hm, probably would be. And it's not like I can even heal them right now... [ He smiles as one of them manages to climb onto his shoulder and snuggle against his neck. ]
