[Anise stopped questioning how and why she kept finding her way back to this place a while ago. All she knew was that it was weird here, because there were always way too many of the same person walking around. Oh, well. That just meant more Guy's to hug, Colonels to hang around with, Asch's to bother and, most importantly, Ion's to protect!]
[Today, though, she finds an old sign that brings back a few fuzzy memories. She grins. Time to have some fun.]

[But to his question, she just shrugs.]
'Cause he was there when I was there last. Shame about Dist, though. He was all right, in Luceti.

[Oh. Oh, he was not expecting this. He thought for certain that when Anise left Luceti the first time, it meant she had gone home. And when she returned the second time without any memories, he had come to terms with the fact that those memories were gone and he would probably never see "this" Anise again.]
[The Anise he realized only too late that he had fallen in love with her.]
[But for him, that was so long ago... those feelings have changed. And yet here he is, standing in front of her, with not a clue as to what he should say.]

[And as she speaks, she shrugs off the white vestment she wears over her pink dress. Folded very carefully against her back are a pair of wings that were of the same shade as Tokunaga's orange plush.]

[He spends more than a few seconds standing there awkwardly silent, until he finally seems to collect himself. He doesn't even know what that feeling in his chest is right now -- pain? longing? love? -- but it's unpleasant enough that he'd rather just... push it back and try not to think about it.]
[No matter what memories she had and didn't have, she was still Anise and she was still his friend. And whether this was a cruel dream or just some twisted reality, he owed it to her to try and not make things awkward and uncomfortable. He's done that enough.]
...I'm sorry, I must seem to strange right now. I was just... surprised to see you.

But hey, what was that pause for? [She frowns accusingly.] There isn't anyone making you unhappy, is there? I don't care how, I might hafta fight my way back and beat 'em up! [And she was almost serious about that! Ion was different. Ion couldn't go back to Auldrant, so his life in Luceti, no matter how difficult it could be, had to be good. Or else Anise would have words (or Tokunagas!) for them Malnosso!]

[It almost hurt his head to try and think about this and have it make sense in his head. They were the same -- there was only one Anise! -- but they were also different. They've gone through so much together, and so much has changed. It's almost surreal, talking to her right now.]

Still.]
Well, I guess if one of me's there then I've got nothing to worry about, huh? [Even if it's not really her. She tries not to think about this other her having the chance to be with Ion again. If there's an Anise at all, that was a good thing, wasn't it? She would be there to protect Ion when she couldn't.]
