3 Fonons: The structure of a meeting.
((OOC: Putting this first so it makes sense. Jade is meeting Guy after planning with Asch here and here. We don't have a specific Guy per say so if you want to step up feel free, more than one would be fabulous actually, and also just because Jade is on his way to meet someone, feel free to hold him up~ The two are also looking for fonists so if you want to be a part of that too, feel free, this can be largely hand-waved, and this post is just for if someone did want to play part of it out.))
[It was early in the day, and Jade was already up and moving quickly along. The eventual goal was the inn, but Jade had also needed to take care of his shopping, stop by the cafe for some food, and of course study more at the library, so it was quite clear he wasn't making the inn first priority, especially since there were so many people to talk to. He'd been thinking hard on the prototype schematics for the fontech he had found and was fairly sure the design was solid enough to keep anyone from dying via fonon-separation. While it was amusing to play with Asch on it seeming risky, this was serious business because he was not interested in sacrificing people for any reason.
At the end of the day though, Jade did have a contingency plan in case things went awry, and it was something he hadn't even discussed with Anise because he knew it wouldn't be well-received.]

[Jade's own smile grew more approving at Guy's reply, obviously they were on either a huge coincidence or Guy had caught on right away, which was good. It meant he could likely find this Guy reliable and this could only help them both.]
Always the giving sort I see~ Did you want to take a walk? I'll treat you to some coffee.
[Opening the door, Jade motioned for Guy to lead and that he would follow him out quickly, they were heading a familiar cafe, but he was quite sure the server he thought of when he had decided upon it would either be off or scheduled later, which would be ideal actually because he was sure tension would be thing between the two.]

[The real question was what exactly the Colonel was planning. And planning with Asch of all people. He got the feeling, from Jade's trademark seal of approval if nothing else, that he'd found the right man and was essentially walking himself into a trap.]
You're being awfully generous this morning, Jade. But sure, why not? A walk would be nice. Good for your aching joints, too, I'll bet.
[All said in a cheerful manner, rather than a jab. Taking point, Guy headed outside into the sunshine.]
no subject
[As they walked, Jade pondered at length how to exactly discuss their project. While Jade could be perfectly clinical with most people, those that managed to get close to him gave him a little trouble with this. This was compounded by the amusing fact that while he knew Guy very well, he didn't know this Guy. Which reminded him that even he could fall into the trappings of the human mind.]
Why don't you tell me a little about yourself~? I'd like to get a feel for who I'm working with.
This icon without the blatant trolling. Because he's just dodging a few spoilers.
[Oh, well, this was strange. Guy knew well enough how different people could be here, but having to introduce himself to someone he's been on somewhat reasonable terms with for the past two or three years just seemed unnatural. He raised a hand to his chin in thought.]
Well, let's see now... I used to serve the household of His Grace, Duke Fabre until about three years ago. I enjoy studying fontechnology and reading travel brochures, and am presently in the employ of His Majesty, Emperor Peony the Ninth.
[Just don't ask what he's doing now, please. Although it's quite easy to guess. The fact that Guy hadn't offered anything worthy of spoiler labels was entirely intentional, as well. He wasn't too willing to reveal more than that unless Jade gave him something to work with first.]
Sure sure Guy! Not trolling...
[Jade shrugged after a moment and pulls open the door to the cafe.]
I am quite glad you are so well-read, it has saved us a few times. As for myself, you came into His Majesty's employment in the range of 4, or maybe 5 years ago~ I seem to be growing senile...
[Stepping inside after Guy, Jade looking around for a redhead and was pleased he did not see one.]
I do believe you know me, but as it is only fair. I am Colonel Jade Curtiss, Third Divison, Malkuth Imperial Forces~
