[This wasn't right, not at all. Asch had never actually been to the Radiation Gate before this, but he was pretty damn sure it wasn't supposed to look like this. Instead of the ancient structure he had been expecting, he now saw... a strange, large building, with a small village surrounding it. It didn't look like anything he had ever seen on Auldrant, but there was no other explanation for it. The Albiore was nowhere to be seen, though; there's no way it could have been flown away so quickly, and Asch knew (hoped) that he wouldn't be left alone like that...

And so he set off, investigating this strange new location, looking even angrier than usual. He would very much like to get out of here, or at least get an explanation, so any help would be greatly appreciated.]

(ooc; just to warn you, this asch is au, but that's all i'll say about that for now. also, this is my first time playing a canon-ish asch, so let me know how i'm doing!)

[He actually laughs a bit at that, although he's quiet so as not to disturb the baby.]

...He's so small...

[ She gestures for him to follow her to the nearby chair, indicating for him to sit. ]

Mhmm... So tiny and yet still so much trouble.

[He follows her and sits in the chair, watching the sleeping baby.]

He can't possibly cause that much trouble.

[ With great care she holds Aidan in one arm and uses her free one to arrange Asch's into a position suitable for the munchkin. ]

He was more trouble before he was born.

[Still a bit uncomfortable with all the contact, but lets her move position him anyway.]

What do you mean?

[ She figured he wouldn't care for it and tries to keep the touches brief. ]

Having a kid is the most uncomfortable thing in the world.

[He really appreciates that, although it's impossible to tell just by looking at him, as he looks pretty much the same as usual.]

...I can imagine. You didn't have to do it alone, though, right?

[ She frowns, and there's a pause while she's lost in thought. Not the happiest of memories there. ]

...Asch was there with me.

[He notices and, despite his curiosity, drops the subject. He really doesn't want to make her uncomfortable, after all.]

So... How do I hold him?

It's easy to do. Just make sure to keep his head and neck supported in the crook of your arm and use the other hand to keep him steady.

[ Into Asch's arms go the baby as she explains, a smile creeping back onto her face. She never considered kids to be that cute during most of her life, but this was adorable. ]

[It's good that he doesn't know she's thinking about him being adorable, as he wouldn't appreciate it at all. As it is he just watches as he's handed the baby, attempting to do all that she says perfectly. He stays silent as he just looks down at Aidan.]

[ There aren't very many Asches that would appreciate being thought of as cute or some other similar term, which is why she rarely mentions the thought. Hooking both thumb into her pants pockets, she beams at him, proud of how well he's doing. ]

See? He's comfortable with you.

He probably thinks I'm his father. [He smiles at him, though, happy that the baby doesn't seem to mind him.]

I dunno... You two might look alike, but I think there's a big difference in how you hold yourselves.

...He can't recognize me as his brother, though. I'm too different from how I was then... He must just be used to seeing lots of Asches around. [Runs his finger lightly over Aidan's cheek; this is really the first time he's seen a baby, so the whole experience is new to him.]

Then that's something he'll have to learn. It won't be good if he can't even pick out his own brother in a crowd. [ She eases herself down to sit on the floor with her arms and chin resting on the edge of the chair to watch them both. ]

You're still a good brother.

[Hearing her say that surprises him and he looks up at her, confused.]

...I'm a good brother? You really think that?

The best anyone could ask for. I wouldn't say it if I didn't think it was true.

You might want to wait until I've been here a bit longer before you say something like that... You don't want to be disappointed. [He goes back to fussing with the baby, stroking his hair.]

Unless you plan on intentionally being a dweeb around him, I don't think I will be disappointed. [ Sorry, Asch, but she can't help petting your hair too. ]

How did you know that's what I was planning to do? [He leans into the touch, laughing quietly. He actually doesn't mind his hair being played with, so he doesn't have any objections to her doing that as long as she likes.]

Oh, just a guess based on how certain other individuals I know behave. [ That actually surprises her a little, though it's not unwelcome to have the chance to mother him in some manner. ]

Let me guess- all of them are Asches. [He's pretty relaxed now, just letting himself enjoy this.]

That's right. You all have similar traits when it comes to being devious.

I'd certainly hope so, since even you replicas share lots of those traits.
