[ It appears someone has set up some training dummies on a certain couple's lawn. Who would do a thing like that? Why, Asch would, that's who. It would appear his intentions are to get some training in; far be it from him to let his fighting skills get rusty.

This means he is in plain sight of anyone who happens to have come out this way. Just be careful about sneaking up on him or anything like that. Why? Because apparently Asch doesn't practice with wooden swords; he's using a recently sharpened blade.

This said, he probably won't actually stab anyone even if they don't announce their presence. But he might come close to it.

Hey, it's not his fault he's not expecting any visitors. ]

[Which will of course beg the question be asked. Predictable replica is predictable.] Why do you say that?

[Dear Time Warner, you suck. Sincerely, Gorse (Res hall internet is down again, this is being sent from my phone, so no fancy formatting and whatnot. It's out of sheer stubborness I found a way here at all.) sorry for any HTML errors.]

Oh. [beat] I guess it just didn`t seem that important at the time. [there`d been too much brainbreak, you see. ] Slipped his mind]

[ooc; Internet still down so far as I know (Dangit they just fixed this on Sunday, somebody has some 'splaining to do. In the meantime, hooray for broader campus Wifi!]

Really? [then he mentally facepalms. Yes really. That's what Asch had just said, wasn't it? Still, that prompts another question.] Is it that dangerous here?

[Overall the place had seemed innocuous, probably another reason he'd only been half-looking for a new sword as of yet but, then again, this Asch had been here before. He would know better...]

[ ooc; And now it's up again. Time Warner, let's keep it that way this time, okay? :| ]

[The "at least" part vaguely tips him off that there might be other things other than monsters to watch out for, but not enough that he takes any real notice of it. All in all it sounds... normal.]
So, just like a normal town, huh? Seems kind of weird...

[You know, a normal thing, in a place where everything is so strange.]

[identity profile] oldest7yearold.livejournal.com 2011-03-29 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
[Well, at least there's one normal thing he can sort of count on, just so long as he runs into those dangerous types without realizing until it's a bit too late. Or [livejournal.com profile] obsidianmotion. That would mess with the poor kid right now too.

And he's going to be following Asch now towards the house.]

[The corner of Luke's mouth twitches upward slightly. He may not be the brightest crayon in the box, but as he spies both the Key of Lorelei and the Maestro Sword he suspects that those two were among the "no touchie" group. As it is, there's so many different kinds of swords here... One of the best ways to describe it, probably, is the idea of a kid in a candy shop.

So, he'll be wandering around, maybe picking one or two up carefully, testing the weight and heft before gently putting it back down where he got it. ... is that a grin? Yes it is]
You've got a lot of really good ones.

And this is where Gorsie fails at describing swords

[identity profile] oldest7yearold.livejournal.com 2011-04-01 06:00 am (UTC)(link)
[Luke doesn't answer, still grinning as he sorts his way through the vast collection. In the end, he picks up a sword, taking a few steps backwards so he doesn't knock anything over as he gives it a couple experimental swings.] Is this one okay?

[The sword Luke picked is one-handed, as he's generally preferred in the past. The make was not particularly impressive - didn't want to take one of Asch's best swords or anything - but still both fairly durable and serviceable. Not to mention the weight just felt right in his hand - after nearly a year's worth of travels, he at least knew how to pick a decent sword.]

Thanks. [That's another grin. Even if it wasn't that big of a thing, he still got Asch's approval over something - and that's a big deal for him. But still, he had a sword... and... now what? That question probably showed clearly in his expression as he looked from the sword he was holding to Asch.]
