[ It appears someone has set up some training dummies on a certain couple's lawn. Who would do a thing like that? Why, Asch would, that's who. It would appear his intentions are to get some training in; far be it from him to let his fighting skills get rusty.

This means he is in plain sight of anyone who happens to have come out this way. Just be careful about sneaking up on him or anything like that. Why? Because apparently Asch doesn't practice with wooden swords; he's using a recently sharpened blade.

This said, he probably won't actually stab anyone even if they don't announce their presence. But he might come close to it.

Hey, it's not his fault he's not expecting any visitors. ]

[ Hey, look! Here's a spacy Luke for you. He's just walking past the house, staring at his hand blankly. Had it really disappeared again just now, or was that his imagination? Either way, he could feel he didn't have much time left. His body was getting weaker every day... ]

[ The noise gains Asch's attention; unfortunately, it gains his attention in a bad way. He turns sword-first toward the knocked-over dummy...

...and his blade stops just inches from Luke's neck. ]

[Hey there, it's the derpkid. Been settling in rather well at the inn over the past couple weeks, though it's no fun being by yourself. He's been trying to acquire a new sword as well, seeing as it feels so weird to be without one, but both his old one and the spares they had were left in the item bag in Chesedonia he'd been dragged here without.

But back to the "no fun being by yourself" part - because of it, he's taken to walking the streets and surrounding areas of ye olde nexus, and therefore spots Asch's sword training. And hey - it's that older Asch, the one who's actually nice. So he's just going to stop and watch for a while. Maybe it'll stand in for practice until he can get an actual sword again.]

[ It takes a bit - and a fair few destroyed dummies those poor dummies - for Asch to realize there's someone watching him. Or maybe he noticed from the start and just didn't feel it was necessary to interrupt his training to say something to someone who's clearly just watching. It's difficult to tell with him sometimes.

However, he does eventually turn toward Luke, shifting his sword downward as he raises an eyebrow. ] If your method of improvement is to just watch others train, that might explain why your skills were always lacking.

[Luke, who'd stood up straighter when Asch had turned (he'd previously been leaning on... something. Probably a fencepost or something like that), scratches the back of his head awkwardly.] Actually, I left the item bag in Sheridan when I got pulled here, so my sword got left there too. I've been trying to find a new one. [And a job, to make sure he can pay for it.]

This may be a problem if he's trying to combine both and wanders a touch too close without looking where he's going]

It is rather unfortunate that Luke is passing by one of the dummies Asch is about to lunge for. Skewered replica in five... four... three... two...

[oh what in holy - Luke drops his book, jumps back, and starts swearing, creatively and with hand gestures thrown in for good measure, and all this before he even gets a good look at Asch's face]

[ After slashing through one of the dummies, Asch lowers his sword and turns to her. ] It's not as though I can't make replacements, considering I made these in the first place.

[Congratulations, Asch. There is a Jade walking up to inspect you, and he looks very amused already. Coming up quietly he gets just out of the man's range and clears his throat.]

[ He hadn't been expecting anyone to interrupt his training - and he certainly hadn't been expecting Jade's voice - so a strike he meant to only nick one of the dummies ends up slicing it in two; however, Asch uses the momentum to turn to Jade, sword pointed toward him and eyes narrowed. ]

[ But he lowers his sword after a moment and regards Jade evenly. ] Necromancer. I certainly wasn't expecting you here. [ Or anyone, really. But it still isn't in Asch's nature to avoid trying to be offensive. ]

[Watching the display, there is possibly a very quiet "snerk" heard at the dummy's demise and upon finding the sword's business end pointed at himself, Jade smiles, and raises his right hand it what might be greeting.]

Asch, how wonderful it is to see you; you haven't changed a bit. I must admit that I wasn't expecting to be here either, but out of a great kindness I was asked over.

[Did his smile grow? Yes, yes it did. A smile that he would only use when someone was about to become highly annoyed.]

[ ...well, maybe she is sneaking a peek every few seconds now and then from the upper window. But only so she can pick up some pointers by watching how Asch trains! It's got nothing to do with the fact his ass is more showing more than Guy's ever did!

[ It's amazing, it's it? They're practically just climbing out of the woodwork.

He doesn't notice her just yet - although, ironically, he actually does need to talk to her since, now that he's back, her cake-making services are going to be required.

In the meantime, she gets an awesome view of Asch training, though. Let's hope Metalhead's not feeling like a narcissist today because Asch makes swordtraining look hot. Or maybe the training makes him look hot...ter than normal. It's difficult to tell which it is sometimes.. ]
