Oh god voice testing
[It was hard getting used to life as nobility again. Guy kept finding himself doing things - getting the groceries, making himself meals, even cleaning - things that the maids would usually do for a count. He knew he was probably looked down on it, and that Peony was encouraging him to hire some maids (which tended to present its own problems), but... it felt too weird, going from the one serving others to the one being served.
As such, he's done a little grocery shopping of his own today. He's a bit preoccupied looking down at said groceries, making sure he's got everything.
And then he looks up.]
Oh man, now where am I?
[It takes him less than half a second that none of the buildings here look like those in Grand Chokmah. He looks behind him, back the way he came from. Nothing there. And so he wanders, looking for some sign of how to get home. Holding a bag of groceries he really will need to put down sometime...]

He's a little grumpy about being misplaced, but he can't help wondering who he'll run into today. And about how cold it is, especially considering how he'll refuse to zip up his jacket. He wasn't expecting to be pulled out of his apartment and all.
When he rounds the corner and sees Guy a few feet away, he absolutely freezes in place, hands in his pockets, eyes wide.
No way. No way...]
no subject
Still, it's a surprise. He doesn't even notice the wings yet.]
Luke? What are you doing here?
no subject
And... well, hopefully Guy has a good grip on that bag of groceries, because Luke suddenly moves in to hug him tightly and press his face against his shoulder, a muffled sound escaping that might have been Guy's name.
He's really seeing him... He's here!]
no subject
Didn't realize you'd miss me that much. [a slight pause] At least let me put the bag down.
[The tone is gently chiding, no real bite or annoyance in it at all. If you need hugs he wants to give you hugs, kiddo.]
no subject
[As if he's just realizing there's a bag full of groceries between them, Luke loosens his hold at first, then completely, and he takes a step back to free Guy momentarily. Still, he keeps his arms slightly out to his sides, and he just... stares, with a goofy grin and his eyes still wide, and even a little misty. It's... It's been so long, and Luke has missed and needed him so much, so seeing him right here, right in front of him, seeming for all the world like he remembered...]
S-Sorry, I just... [What should he even say? He doesn't know what to say! It's like all the words he wants to say are scattered all over the place, and he can't look away long enough to grab them again.]
no subject
He laughs.] It's fine. So how did you get here?
no subject
Had this been some time ago, even a month or two after Guy left, Luke probably wouldn't take the offer. But with so much happening... He hesitates for a second before he goes forward again to hug him once more. It's an affectionate one, too, though not too long; after a few seconds, he gives him an extra squeeze, pats his back, then steps back and wipes a thumb under his eye. Ha... Luke must seem like a mess or something right now.]
... Huh? How?
no subject
Well I only just got here myself. Not sure what exactly this place is. I was wondering if you would.
By the way, what's up with this?
[Gently tapping at a shoulderblade-lump thing. He noticed them while hugging you]
no subject
... Wait, hold up - ]
... You don't know?
no subject
[He just asked about this world so... the lump things? He's guessing.]

[He can't help being a little disappointed. He was wrong after all... Guy didn't remember. Maybe they just hadn't seen each other for a while in Auldrant. So he wouldn't know anything, about Luceti, about Luke's life, about... Asch.]

[He smiles, because hey, what's one little setback? And instead of dwelling on it further, he tugs on his jacket a bit, then turns so that his back is facing Guy, and pulls his jacket down to his elbows to let his wings show. They're small and the color of his hair, though a little lighter thanks to their time in the sun, and fade to blond at the ends, just like his hair from back then. They twitch slightly under the attention, and Luke glances over his shoulder to smile sheepishly.]
They're wings.
no subject
For a moment he briefly glances over his own shoulders, just to check and make sure he doesn't have wings of his own.
No, nothing that he could see. That being done, he immediately turns his attention back to Luke.]
They look pretty good. [And in a way, they do sort of suit Luke, in color at the very least.] Bit of an interesting fashion statement though.
[If they're even a "fashion statement" at all. Luke was eccentric with his tastes but this was going a little overboard, even for him.]
no subject
They're not a fashion statement! You think I want them there?
no subject
How did they get there, then?
[He's got a feeling he's not going to like the answer]
no subject
They were attached to me when I was brought to Luceti... Another world. I can't just get them off, though; If they get cut off, then... I'd end up dying.
no subject
... was this another world?]
Who exactly is doing this, and why?
[He's scowling, though it's not Luke he's mad at. Who would be idiot enough to give that much of a weak spot to someone, and for what purpose? And why the hell was Luke brought to another world?]
no subject
They're called the Malnosso. They're doing it to... experiment on us. They want to get back to their home, so... they're using us to find a way out. [That's what he gathered, anyway.]
The problem is, a lot of experiments are just... cruel. And sometimes I can't even get the point of them... and the war...
[He has to stop there. The drafts bring back bad memories.]
1/2
Oh no, he's not happy at all.]
no subject
Still... damn Luke he left you alone for a month...]
Man, and here I thought we'd taken care of everything... When did this happen?
[In addition, Luke will probably notice Guy's hand on his shoulder now, giving it a comforting squeeze. He can and will hug you again if you need it.]
no subject
Luke has to pause and frown slightly, too, because Luceti's calendar just works so differently from Auldrant's. He'd been in Luceti for... how long? A little more than a year? So, in Auldrant time, that's...]
Six or seven months ago...?
no subject
Luke, I only saw you a month ago.
[Not that he disbelieves you. He expects you've got an explanation for that too, and he's not going to like it any more than anything already has. Six to seven months... Luke's been stuck for half a year in this place?]
no subject
[He knows it's hard to believe. He knows it, and yet he still feels frustrated over it. How else is he supposed to explain and make it believable? It is real!]
Look, time passes by differently there! While I'm there, Auldrant kind of... stops for a while. So when I get back, it'll be like nothing happened to me.
Guuuuuuuuuuuy~♥
It took hours to decide on which redhead to send, sob.Even several winter holidays approaching hadn't distracted one Luke from some very important work. There never seemed to be a shortage of those in need of help with replica-related matters, and Luke had taken it as a personal mission to do what she could. At the moment this took form in a stack - no, more like a mountain of paper being carted from one building to the next. Besides being heavy, it was impossible to see around both sides of the damn thing at the same time.Let us pause for a brief moment to hope that one of the two people converging upon an upcoming intersection are paying attention.
Okay. With that futile gesture out of the way, Luke stumbles out of the alley near Guy, still oblivious to the company due to choosing the wrong side of paper pillar to watch.
Hope your brakes are in working order, Guy. ]
As a redhead player myself, I know <3
Whoa, careful there.
[Hold on. That red hair. It's much, much longer than it should be, but those are still fade-to-blond tips] Luke?
The redhead bandwagon all shouts "Me! Me!" <3;;
--dammit, Guy!
[ . . . ]
Guy!
Because it's a GUYYYYY
What are you doing with all those? You're looking a little overloaded.
And Guy brings all the drecks to the yard!
Trying to find a way of fixing them together that won't take forever to do. I ran out of notebooks and had to use single sheets.
because I need an excuse to use him
It's not Auldrant, that's really all I've been given.
Haha. |D Also forgive me, don't quite have the right icon
C'mon Jade, it's my time off! [sigh, don't get him involved with another party or council meeting or something!] What's with the outfit, anyway?
Psh it's fine bro
A break from babysitting? I wasn't aware you were given that.
[The outfit? Well, no such luck there, this Guy was most likely from a different Audlrant. might as well test temperament.]
Let's call it a change of pace.
Goooooooorse <333
[Hey, that's the voice of a familiar red head! But where is he? Not to your left. Not to your right. Not in front or behind. Try looking up!]
[...yeah, this crossover brat likes to hover. Just to prove he can.]
[Luke's lounging in the air like he's floating around in a pool, letting the breeze blow him wherever. He's got a massively huge book on his lap, which is threatening to topple off, considering how he's twisted around trying to peer down at Guy through his bone-rimmed glasses.]
