[ Luke blushed as well and appeared much like a cat being pet. His eyes closed and he struggled to keep from making a soft noise at the gentle touch. ]

... No, I can't. They're just leftovers from the Guardian possessing me. [ He smiled sheepishly. ] I wish I could. That would be so cool!

At least they keep you warm.

[ I-I'm not cute, dammit! //// ... Huh? He never really considered that aspect of them... Leave it to Tear. ]

Y-Yeah, I guess they do... Ah, do you know your way around this place? I could show you, if you'd like... [ No, we're not blushing again. We're not! ]

I..can't say I do. I just arrived and I'm kind of lost, actually. But I'm glad I headed this way.

Maybe... It's a big place, so I haven't run into them, yet. [ He smiled sheepishly at her. ] I've only run into two of Asch and... two of myself. That was pretty weird. Oh, and Anise, too. She's here. [ His smile brightened a bit. He really did love the little galddigger. ] One Asch had wings like I did.

I wonder how we all got here. Really? Maybe he's from the same place you came from then..

[ He just shook his head, making his final destination the inn. ]

I'm really not sure. I'm not even sure how I ended up on Filgaia, either. [ ... Leave it to Tear to not be surprised by the fact that there is more than one Luke running around. He smiled at her. ] I doubt it. He didn't know anything about the place where I was.

... A-Anyway, this is the inn. You can stay here for the night or try to find someplace else.

[ And at that point, Luke's unsure of what to do. He reached out for her, hesitating before placing his hand on her shoulder. Even this little bit of contact made his heart skip. ]

And... And I'm around if you ever need me, Tear. [ He gave her a warm smile, letting the touch linger before dropping his hand uselessly to his side. ] I'll let you get settled. [ Namely because he wasn't sure how much longer he could handle this longing. That month at the manor after lowering the Outer Lands had nothing on this, and especially after he'd begun to figure out his feelings for her. Even then, he didn't want to seem like a creeper, so he'd just back off for the moment. ] See you around.

D-Do you mind if I see you later? After I set up..? It shouldn't..take me very long. Unless of course you're busy, which I understand--I don't want to intrude..

[ He wasn't so great with feelings, himself, mostly romantic ones. He could express joy and anger and grief, of course, but romantic love was an entirely new emotion to him. He had no idea how to deal with it, considering he was only eight years old mentally, or perhaps a bit more than that after spending time on his own. ]

[ Luke did pause and blink in surprise at her words, almost as if he was shocked that she had stopped him. He felt a bit of a blush come to his face as well, but managed a bright smile. She really wanted to see him again...? ] Sure thing. I'm not busy at all. Actually, it's hard to find things to do, here. [ Have one of his cute, closed-eyed, wide grins. ] I'm usually just hanging around the square, here. So take as much time as you need.

[ And now he'll run off to go check a few of the shops, waving bye to her. For, now at least. And hopefully she won't hear the excited shout he gave once he was some distance away. He basically had a date with Tear! ... Yes, the grave implications of this will set in in a few minutes. Give him a chance; he's a Fabre. ]

[ Luke was already scrambling into a few of the shops. Okay, so, he needed flowers, chocolates, and a gift, right? That's how dates went. ... Right? Right?? He frowned as he looked through several of the wares, unable to decide on just one thing. Geez, who knew dating was such a difficult thing to do...? ]

[ Dejectedly, he walked out of the store. Maybe he didn't need anything. Tear just wanted to spend time with him, right? Just as he was about to make his way back to the square, a tiny, open box caught his eye. He walked over to it and picked it up. It almost looked like his old phonograph in his room, except really, really small, and unable to play records. He wound up the tiny crank and watched it spin as a simple song played, Mirrors. He smiled and closed the box, effectively stopping the melody. It'd be perfect! Nothing too expensive or pushy, just a little gift to show how much he appreciated Tear. He paid for it and hand it wrapped up before exiting the store to anxiously wait for her. ]

You didn't have to wait for me..I'm sorry, did I take too long?

[ Luke was adjusting his hair when Tear spotted him, albeit to little avail. His hair was just eternally messy. He dropped his hands and grinned sheepishly when she walked up, laughing. ] I wasn't waiting at all.

Uh... Here. [ His face turned red as he shoved the small package towards Tear. Takeittakeittakeit I'm gonna die of embarrassment here! >///< ]

I-Is this for me? Really..?

Luke..

[ And Luke's happy to see you, too. Elated, actually. ]

[ He smiled reassuringly, nodding. ] Y-Yeah. Just... a little something, I guess.

[ Wow, he sucked at this. His face was red and he folded his arms. ] J-Just open it. [ Oh, geez, that came out snippy. He murmured an apology and rubbed the back of his head. This wasn't working out too well... ]

R-Right!

Luke you...didn't have to--Why?

[ Luke swallowed at the question, looking away from her and closing his eyes. He knew why, now. He couldn't tell her at the time, not when he was going to die. Now... he had all the time in the world, didn't he? Being away from her for so long, having only her memory and the memories of his friends (he still missed Guy and Jade and Natalia like crazy) to remember them by, made him realize just how important they all were to him. Dear friends... But Tear was more than that. She'd proven time and time again that she wasn't willing to give up on Luke, and he... ]

[ He reached out and took her hands, finally looking at her and smiling with all the warmth he'd wanted to give her a year ago. ] Because I... I love you, too... Tear.

Luke-...

[ ... H-Hey, she wasn't supposed to CRY! He appeared panicked for a moment and his wings fluttered before she smiled like that. And... he'd realized that he'd never seen anything more beautiful. ]

[ Luke swallowed. He wanted to... but would she let him? His hands moved to gently grasp her arms and he leaned down, face only a breath away from hers. He lifted a hand to brush away her tears, smiling slightly and speaking in whispers. ] Don't cry like that. I like your smile a lot better.

[ That's all he said before he closed the distance between their lips. ]
