[Clearly, redheads have never been in short supply here.

As a result of this fact, seeing Asch sitting at a table with that smug "I'm better than you" look of his shouldn't really take too many people by surprise. Oh, sure, the lack of any discernible agitation is probably a little disconcerting as is the presence of a deck of playing cards set upon the table within easy reach of his right hand. Of course, this Asch is a little different from most, missing anger notwithstanding; it isn't too hard to tell he is a fair bit older, somewhere within his early-to-mid twenties.

Regardless, he is Asch. And he? He is challenging you to a game of poker.

swallowfury, Asch here is definitely not reset, so he retains any CR he had from the last time I was around a couple years back. Of course, he's not going to come out and just let you know who he is; he feels like being a bit of a jerk, so even if you do know him, he's going to leave you guessing. Especially. If you're a certain replica. Why? Because he can. ~~And, no, he's not going to deal cards to kids. But he might go into papa mode on them.~~]

[ It's still strange to Mieu, whose big eyes get wider with awe. He is amazed. For some reason or another the cheagle takes off after that, tiny footfalls echoing down the hall. ]

[Asch shakes his head slightly, shifting to get a little more comfortable as he watches over Aidan.]

[ Hopefully he won't mind a pair of arms finding their way around his neck, now that somebody's decided to be sensible. ]

[Well... his spine does stiffen for a moment, even if he did feel her coming. But then he reaches one hand up to rest on her wrist.]

[ For Asch, that counts as an okay. So she noses his hair before placing a kiss on top of his head. ]

[He's not taking his eyes off of Aidan, and he doesn't really respond to the kiss. But after a few moments...] He's gotten so big...

[ Her arms tighten just a hint, and she covers his hand with her own. ] Hasn't he?

[With a slight nod, he leans back just a fraction.]

[ Having a bit more care than the cheagle, she uses her literal inside voice to give him a nudge. "Don't beat yourself up over it." ]

["I vowed I would not allow myself to be like Father." And yet, in his mind, he's worse because he was gone rather than just distant.]

[ "And you aren't..." There's a slight puzzlement to her voice; Father was cold as steel, whereas Asch wasn't. ]

["I abandoned him, even if unintentionally."]

[ "No, you didn't. Abandonment has to be willing. And you're here now, that's what counts." ]

["Hm..." He just reaches out to stroke Aidan's cheek again.]

[ Frowning, she bends enough to look him in the eye. "You better not let him catch you moping!" ]

[Just turns his head to give her a look.]

[ Unfazed! "I mean it! He can tell." She did enough of it to realize that. ]

[Luke, this is Asch's "What the hell do you take me for?" face.]

[ ... "You already knew that, didn't you." Okay, then. He gets a great big kiss on the scowly forehead for not growling at her. ♥ ]

[Heh; Asch just closes his eyes. And is... is that a sort-of smile? Say it isn't so, Asch. Say it isn't so.]

[ It is! One that makes Luke beam and try kissing her way down to it; one more for the forehead, one on the bridge of his nose, then one for the nose itself~ ]

[Don't worry, Luke; for once, it's not all up to you. Asch tilts his head up when Luke reaches his nose to press his lips against hers.]

[ That pleases Luke more than Asch might realize, hence the happy if surprised noise she makes into the kiss. It's awkward as all get out, but she still tries to hug him from that angle. ]

[He shifts a bit to make it a little more comfortable, tugging her forward just slightly so she might end up in the space between him and the bed.]

[ Much better. Squirming her way right on in, she threads a few fingers through his hair to play with the strands hanging alongside his face. "You give a new meaning to the phrase 'handsome devil', you know that?" ]
