[Staff-bearing Luke is out and about. Or at least out, since he's not doing much in the way of wandering about. Instead, he's kind of sitting almost precariously on a tree branch, leaning back against the trunk with his eyes closed, his staff held across his stomach.
Oh, this can't end well.]

[looks up at the sky, silent for a bit]
...
I may have beaten him in Eldrant, but it didn't feel the same that time as it did back in Yulia City. It wasn't so much me getting stronger, even though I'm sure I had. But... he seemed weaker, and he must have been. He said something about that to me once. About how he'd been growing weaker towards the end. That was... probably my fault, too. [shakes his head a bit, almost as though to clear his thoughts]
I felt it after that, though. We were with Lorelei for a little bit before he gave our lives back to us, and I could feel it... it wasn't too different from using hyperresonance, so I don't know why I didn't think of it after I'd learned how to control that. I guess maybe it didn't matter since we had Jade and Tear and Anise with us... [shakes his head again] I spent a long time learning how to really control them, though, and Asch had to help me out a whole lot along the way. Looking back, it was probably a lot harder than it would have been the first go-around, though.

It looks to me that you did quite well. I doubt you would have had the patience for learning fonic artes when you were younger.

... [annoyed again] Hey! What the hell's that supposed to mean?! Besides... [holds up the fonstone he's still holding, looking at it in the light] It's harder now, though. They're not so easy to come by anymore.

It means you were a flighty child with whims that changed with the days. [ Quirks an eyebrow at the stone. ] From stopping the Planet Storm?
no subject
... [nods slightly] Funny, isn't it... we did that to save the world, and because of doing that, it's going to die anyway.
no subject
...it won't die. You will find a way to make sure of that. You were able to save Auldrant before.
no subject
...kind of hard to do that when I'm here. [siiiiiiigh] He must be so pissed by now.
no subject
Stop whining and keep working at it. He will be more angry if he hears what you are saying.
no subject
I'm not whining. Just... frustrated. And I hate knowing that I'm leaving him alone to deal with it when we're supposed to be doing it together.
no subject
I know a whine when I hear one. Ah well, with as much trouble as you attract, your absence may give him plenty of time to get the job done on his own. [ You're so fun to tease, Luke. ]
no subject
So sorry to disappoint you, but you're assuming wrong there.
no subject
You becoming capable is far from a disappointment, replica.

[starestarestare] What the hell... [the wings have taken him by enough surprise that he's not even going to respond to your goading, Asch. Be grateful. He might've smacked you over the head otherwise.]
no subject
And he might not be a cockatiel, but he can be flashy like a peacock, stretching his wings out completely to let them catch the sunlight. ]
