[Clearly, redheads have never been in short supply here.

As a result of this fact, seeing Asch sitting at a table with that smug "I'm better than you" look of his shouldn't really take too many people by surprise. Oh, sure, the lack of any discernible agitation is probably a little disconcerting as is the presence of a deck of playing cards set upon the table within easy reach of his right hand. Of course, this Asch is a little different from most, missing anger notwithstanding; it isn't too hard to tell he is a fair bit older, somewhere within his early-to-mid twenties.

Regardless, he is Asch. And he? He is challenging you to a game of poker.

swallowfury, Asch here is definitely not reset, so he retains any CR he had from the last time I was around a couple years back. Of course, he's not going to come out and just let you know who he is; he feels like being a bit of a jerk, so even if you do know him, he's going to leave you guessing. Especially. If you're a certain replica. Why? Because he can. ~~And, no, he's not going to deal cards to kids. But he might go into papa mode on them.~~]

[Asch has no words.

Meanwhile, once he's inside, he finally puts his hand over the spot where Mieu ended up hitting into his arm, slowly massaging the area as best as he can one-handed to try to numb the pain and get the feeling back in the rest of his arm. He's pretty distracted by this, so he's not really paying too much attention to the other changes she's made. Plus, he's really just more concerned with finding his son.]

[ Luke peeked inside when there wasn't so much as an insult from Asch, then carefully made her way upstairs to follow suit. Mieu had seemed happy enough to see her -and Asch, she could tell, so she knew Aidan had to be fine. Probably sleeping at this hour of the day. ]

[By the time Asch gets up to Aidan's room, he's still rubbing his arm. But that doesn't stop him from going over to his son; he releases his own arm, wincing slightly but moving past that so he can brush his fingers against Aidan's forehead.]

[ Seeing Asch holding his arm makes her pause; had Mieu slammed into him that hard...? For a tiny creature with a thick skull he seemed fine and she knew Asch was tougher than any cheagle so it didn't make sense. Huh. Not wanting to intrude, she lingers just outside the bedroom door in silence with her back to the wall. ]

[The damn cheagle's head is hard and Mieu was clearly excited to be called upon.

Asch kneels beside Aidan's bed, still brushing his hair back lightly. It's taking an awful lot for him to keep himself from shaking; he's missed nearly two years of his son's life, who has now grown from a baby to a toddler. Seeing him has driven that fact home.]

[ It'll be even more obvious when he wakes up and addresses Asch as "Papa", like Luke's taught him by using pictures and other Asches as learning tools. He even knows their cheagle is "Mieu Thing". "Asch..."

[He doesn't respond, instead just leaning closer as he lays his palm flat on Aidan's forehead, lightly pushing it back and pushing his bangs back; once the hair is out of the way, Asch places a kiss on Aidan's forehead.]

[ With no response forthcoming, she wanders back downstairs to sit with and quietly talk to Mieu. Even if they couldn't directly communicate, it seemed right to fill him in on what was going on. and listen to him rambling in cheagle. ]

[Asch is just going to spend some more time with Aidan because, really, he has a lot to familiarize himself with. And it's comforting to at least see him again like this.]

[ After exhausting the simple explanation, Luke plops Mieu on her head and slips out the front door. It was purely assumption on her part, but she figured Asch would appreciate a chance to be alone with their son. That and... well, it felt like she'd be intruding by staying. ]

[Well... Asch is just going to spend this time watching Aidan sleep. He's probably stroking the kid's cheek with one finger now.]

[ You're such a sweet papa, Asch. Shame your replica is too stupid to get to enjoy it right now. It'd make her smile. ]

[Honestly, he probably wouldn't even notice her coming in to watch if she doesn't make too much noise.]

[ There's something to be said for that too. But what pops up next to Asch isn't Luke, but a pair of blue and white ears. Mieu at least wants to watch. ♥ ]

[He does see Mieu there, but he doesn't make any form of acknowledgment. Instead, he just keeps stroking Aidan's cheek.]

[ Hopefully Asch won't mind when Mieu gives a very quiet "Mieu!" as he pops up to hang off Aidan's bed, wide eyes going from child to father. ]

[Asch's eye twitches slightly, but he doesn't look away from Aidan. Instead, he murmurs softly.] You'll wake him.

[ The pair of fluffy ears sink a little, accompanied by "Mieuuu...". Good job on getting him to make more noise, Asch. Apparently it's true what they say about pets resembling their owners. ]

[This has to be some kind of horrible, horrible joke. Could Luke have really rubbed off on the damn cheagle that much?]

[ Well, considering that the room you're in now is decorated with pastel sacred beasts, is it that surprising? ]

[Damnit, cheagle, Asch doesn't want Aidan to wake up yet; he wants his son to get the sleep he needs.]

[ H-he's being quiet! You won't hear another peep out of him! He's just going to hang there and stare at that angry face. ]

[And Asch turns his full attention back to Aidan. If he were any other Asch, the look of contentment that settles over his features would be very strange, really.]

[ It's still strange to Mieu, whose big eyes get wider with awe. He is amazed. For some reason or another the cheagle takes off after that, tiny footfalls echoing down the hall. ]

[Asch shakes his head slightly, shifting to get a little more comfortable as he watches over Aidan.]
